'Watchmen' Brings the Black and Yellow Carpet to Los Angeles Premiere
March 03, 2009 02:03:03Having celebrated its world premiere in London on February 23, "Watchmen" turns to Los Angeles for its U.S. premiere. The special screening event took place at Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood on Monday night, March 2 and saw familiar setting as the attendees were greeted by the black-and yellow carpet designed with "Watchmen" lettering and the signature yellow smiley face.
Most of the highly anticipated live-action movie's cast ensemble, such as Patrick Wilson, Billy Crudup, Malin Akerman, Carla Gugino, Jackie Earle Haley and Jeffrey Dean Morgan, were among the Hollywood stars seen gracing the black-and-yellow carpet on the night. Joining them for the special occasion were director-producer couple, Zack Snyder and Deborah Snyder.
'Watchmen' Invades London With World Premiere

Attracting a huge crowd at the Odeon West End at Leicester Square, the special screening event was marked with the rolling out of one specially-designed carpet, which in contrast to the usual red, takes the black-and yellow color with "Watchmen" lettering and the signature yellow smiley face.
The whole cast ensemble that include Billy Crudup, Carla Gugino, Jackie Earle Haley, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Malin Akerman, Matthew Goode and Patrick Wilson, were present on the occasion. Dressed to impress, three of the actors, Wilson, Crudup, and Morgan, were seen wearing suits by designer Calvin Klein.

Serving as an introduction to Laurie Juspeczyk, the character played by Malin Akerman, the behind-the-scenes video footage is filled with commentary from Snyder as well as from Akerman. In it, it can be seen for the first time Akerman sharing scene with Carla Gugino, who plays Sally Jupiter.
Adapted from Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons' comic book series of the same title, "Watchmen" follows superhero-turned-vigilante Rorschach as he investigates the murder of his former colleague and discovers much more than a simple homicide case. As he goes on with his investigation, he uncovers the plot to kill and discredit all other superheroes as well as a far more intricate conspiracy involving his colleagues' past which could completely change the course of history.
Carla Gugino Steps Into 'Every Day'

Carla Gugino, as Variety has reported, has been selected as the last actor to join the film's ensemble, portraying a sexy colleague of Liev Schreiber. Her character holds a crucial part in the story as she will be the one who generates the turmoil in the marriage of Schreiber's character.
Additionally, the other main characters belong to Schreiber and Helen Hunt, who both will act as a married couple. Since the cast ensemble has been completed, the flick is going to begin its shooting sometime this month. The shooting location of "Every Day" has been set in New York.

Joining the celebration were many of the Hollywood A-list celebrities and others.
Most of the series' cast ensemble, including Adrian Grenier, Kevin Connolly, Kevin Dillon, Jeremy Piven, Rex Lee, Jerry Ferrara and Perrey Reeves, arrived in their best possible suits or dresses and posed for the press. The Silk Spectre of 'Watchmen' Dished Out the Superhero Film
January 31, 2008 12:01:33Attending the prestigious SAG Awards on Sunday, January 27, the actress who plays the character of Sally Jupiter in "Watchmen", Carla Gugino let out details about the upcoming Warner Bros' superhero flick on the red carpet. On the occasion, the 36-year-old actress talked much about her character known also as 'The Silk Spectre'.
To MTV News, she confessed that in the film, her character will be portrayed in two different milestone. She revealed, "I start at 25 years old in the 1940s, and I age to 67 years old with full prosthetics in the 1980s." She further described her character saying, "It was really one of the craziest, most fun roles I've ever gotten to play. [Sally] is a larger-than-life character. She's a costumed crime fighter, but her idea of a costume is very Bettie Page-meets-[Alberto] Vargas."

Following the inclusion of Malin Akerman, "Watchmen" filmmakers appear to be quick indeed in finding another female figure for the flick as Carla Gugino has been announced to join the cast as Sally Jupiter, the first Silk Spectre also the mother of Laurie Juspeczyk aka the new Silk Spectre played by Akerman.
A former frizzy haired red head waitress and burlesque dancer, Jupiter is part of the Minutemen, a group of superheroes formed before the events of Watchmen. It is expected for Gugino to portray the character in varying eras, playing different ages throughout the movie.

Flick presents the story the Immaculata College women's basketball team as it rose from loser status to victory in the 1972 National Women's Collegiate Championship. Gugino will play the coach while Boreanaz is set to portray her husband.

Became a breakout star soon after her performance in last year's "Wedding Crashers," Hollywood actress Isla Fisher has joined the cast of the upcoming drama thriller entitled "The Lookout." Set to direct the film is Scott Frank, who wrote the script as well.
The film revolves around a mentally impaired former athlete who works as a janitor at a bank and gets sucked into a heist. Other cast on board are Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Carla Gugino, and Matthew Goode. Shooting is slated to begin in Winnipeg, Manitoba, at month's end.

January 25, 2006 10:01:33Mickey Rooney and Dick Van Dyke have both revealed their plan to spend the "Night at the Museum." The twosome, in companion with Bill Cobbs, will play villains in the action comedy flick which Shawn Levy about to direct.
Playing the main role is Ben Stiller, whose character Larry Daley, discovers a magical pharaoh's tablet, but Van Dyke, playing the head of security who has worked at the museum for nearly 50 years, wants the tablet to stay young. Rooney is his colleague who, with Cobbs, helps Van Dyke's character with his nefarious schemes.

The flick revolves around a hapless museum guard (Stiller) at a natural history exhibit who unwittingly triggers an ancient jinx that animates the long-deceased critters and brings chaos to the city.
