AceShowbiz - Top 10 of "American Idol" season 23 returned to the stage in the Sunday, April 28 episode. With the help of Shania Twain as their mentor, they hit the stage to sing songs from their birth years in an attempt to secure a spot in the Top 8.

The first contestant to sing that night was Jack Blocker, who opted to sing "Believe" by Cher. Judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan gave Jack a standing ovation with Lionel saying that Jack managed to "carve out his own sound" and "pulled it off." Luke, meanwhile, encouraged Jack to "have fun with it" and not be afraid to "hit a wrong note."

Following it up was McKenna Faith Breinholt, who sang Goo Goo Dolls' "Iris". Katy told McKenna that it was her favorite performance from McKenna. Luke said it was "so mature" and "professional."

Kayko initially wanted to sing "Oops!…I Did It Again" by Britney Spears before switching to "Teenage Dirtbag" by Wheatus. Luke appeared to be impressed by the new Kayko. Lionel, on the other hand, praised Kayko for staging the performances.

Singing "All the Small Things" by Blink-182 was Emmy Russell. Lionel said that Emmy had a "storyteller" voice. As for Katy, she thought that Emmy did a great song choice and it was Emmy's best vocal of the season. Luke added that Emmy looked the most "free" in the performance.

Triston Harper then hit the stage to sing "She's Country" by Jason Aldean. Following the performance, Katy thanked him for "being a student of this game." Lionel, meanwhile, commented, "Did I just see the Triston strut?"

As for Abi Carter, she belted out "Clocks" by Coldplay that night. Lionel loved it as he said, "That's what performing is all about." Katy agreed, while Luke commented, "You can't do a whole concert behind a piano." As for Julia Gagnon, she opted for "Here I Am" by Bryan Adams. Katy likened Julia to Kelly Clarkson, while Luke said, "Way to own your moment."

Will Moseley followed it up with a performance of "Modern Day Bonnie and Clyde" by Travis Tritt. Luke said it was the "perfect song and the perfect delivery." Lionel simply commented, "Way to go!" Rounding out the night was Kaibrienne, who sang "Here Without You" by 3 Doors Down. Lionel claimed he could listen to her "cry" all night long. "You have a pot of gold in your voice," Katy added.

After the voting was closed, host Ryan Seacrest announced two singers who were sent home. The eliminated contestants were Mia Matthews and Kayko. The remaining Top 8 will compete in "The Judge's Song Contest" in the Monday, April 29 episode.
