AceShowbiz - "American Idol" revealed its season 22 Top 12 in the Sunday, April 21 episode. The Top 14 singers hit the stage in front of the judges, Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan, in hopes of getting votes and a spot in the Top 12.

The first contestant to sing was Triston Harper, who chose to deliver "Heartbreak Hotel" by Elvis Presley without a guitar for the first time. Katy loved his performance, saying, "You scared me and you scared your mother!" Similarly, Luke deemed it "tremendous," before claiming that America "will fall in love with that performance."

The second one to perform was Julia Gagnon, who belted out "Run to You" by Whitney Houston. "If you want respect you have to command, and you commanded that stage," Lionel gushed. Following it up was Roman Collins, who delivered "You're All I Need to Get By" by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell. It prompted Luke to praise his talent, which he said was as good as anything he's heard on the show.

Later, Kaibrienne sang "I Hate Myself for Loving You" by Joan Jett and the Blackhearts. She received positive comments, including one from Luke who called the performance "a concert." The show was followed by Jayna Elise's performance of Whitney's "I Have Nothing" that was deemed "perfect" by Luke.

Mia Matthews was up next. After singing "Those Memories of You" by Linda Ronstadt, Dolly Parton and Emmylou Harris, Mia was praised by Lionel for coming out "shining like a new penny." Following the performance, Kayko hit the stage to deliver "High & Dry" by Radiohead. While Lionel gushed over Kayko's versatility, Luke complimented the contestant who made the song his own.

As for Emmy Russell, she decided to perform Bonnie Raitt's "I Can't Make You Love Me". Katy exclaimed, "You're competing against yourself and tonight you won." The next performer was Jordan Anthony singing Whitney's "I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)". Luke praised him for nailing his performance "from top to finish." In addition, Katy called it his best performance.

It was time for McKenna Faith Breinholt to step on the stage to sing Chicago's "Hard to Say I'm Sorry". Lionel praised the performance, deeming it "a sexy-sounding performance." Jack Blocker was up next with Bob Dylan's track "Don't Think Twice, It's Alright". While Luke raved, "You're growing like crazy," Lionel said Jake made the tune his own.

Singing Aretha Franklin's classic "I Say a Little Prayer" was Nya. Following the performance, Katy exclaimed, "It was my favorite thing I've ever heard you do." Up next was Will Moseley, who delivered "Night Moves" by Bob Seger. According to Katy, it was "his best performance."

Closing out the performances that night was Abi Carter, who sang Elton John's "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road". After performing, Abi was showered with praise by the judges, including Katy who said, "From day one, it's always been you."

It was later time for host Ryan Seacrest to reveal the results for Top 14 performances. That night, Jordan Anthony and Nya were eliminated despite receiving positive comments from the judges. Meanwhile, the Top 12 singers are set to perform again on Monday night, April 22 for the "Billboard #1 Hits Night" episode.
