In the Wednesday, March 1 episode of the hit FOX series, reigning winner Medusa, Polar Bear and California Roll hit the stage in the hope of advancing to the next round.

AceShowbiz - More celebrity masked singers performed in a new episode of "The Masked Singer" season 9. In the Wednesday, March 1 episode of the hit FOX series, judge Robin Thicke kicked off the night by performing his song "Living in New York City" while his fellow judges Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy and Nicole Scherzinger cheered on him.

Later, Medusa returned to the stage to offer up an additional clue, which was season 7 contestant McTerrier a.k.a. chef Duff Goldman. For the night, Medusa belted out a rendition of "New York, New York" by Frank Sinatra. "What an amazing, stunning, I think one of the best, most unique performances to date on 'The Masked Singer'," Jenny gushed, while Nicole added, "You are otherworldly."

Brought by "The Real Housewives of New York City" star Luann de Lesseps, an additional clue for Medusa came in the form of a Brooklyn Bridge miniature. "Sometimes you have to build a bridge to get over it," Medusa explained, "Hopefully it will put you in the right state of mind." The judges guessed Susan Boyle, Kesha (Ke$ha), Lorde, Garbage singer Shirley Manson and Florence Welch.

The next singer was Polar Bear, whose clue package showed a scratch-off lottery ticket, boxing and a message in a bottle. "My neighborhood got a bad rep. It's the kind of place most people wouldn't dream of getting down with," he said. Polar Bear performed Blondie's "Rapture".

For his additional clue, Long Island Medium Theresa Caputo said, "Totally see you standing at a podium, giving a speech. I think it's actually an acceptance speech at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame." The guesses included DJ Jazzy Jeff, Sean "P. Diddy" Combs, Flavor Flav and Grandmaster Flash.

Rounding out the night was California Roll. One of the sushi roll's five pieces said they'd been on Broadway before and gotten married. "Just like the city of New York, this Cali Roll never sleeps," a third piece added, "I got used to it form deejaying all night long." They also showed a group project book, a tiger, a baseball, Snoop Dogg and Dolly Parton.

For their first performance, the fivesome performed "Paparazzi" by Lady GaGa. The judges thought that California Roll could be Pentatonix or the casts of "High School Musical", "Pitch Perfect" and "The Lion King" on Broadway.

After the three singers performed, host Nick Cannon revealed that Polar Bear received the fewest number of votes and that meant he was the first singer that night to get unmasked. Nicole guessed it right because Polar Bear was revealed to be DJ Grandmaster Flash.

California Roll, meanwhile, was sent to a Battle Royale against reigning winner Medusa. They each performed their own take on Billy Joel's "Uptown Girl" and Ken admitted, "This is the most competitive Battle Royale we've ever had."

The judges decided to keep California Roll around and sent home Medusa. However, Nicole shockingly rang the "Ding Dong Keep It On" bell and saved Medusa. "After I heard the California Rolls, I knew they won and I felt so embarrassed," Medusa said. "Thank you so much. This means more to me than you'll ever know. And wow, I'm very relieved."
