The 'Cool for the Summer' hitmaker and the 'I Can't Breathe' singer have been signed on to pay tribute to the 'Rocket Man' star at the upcoming music event.

AceShowbiz - Demi Lovato, Brandi Carlile, and H.E.R. are coming together to salute Sir Elton John during a special tribute performance at the 2021 iHeartRadio Music Awards.

The "Rocket Man" legend will be feted at Thursday's (27May21) prizegiving in Los Angeles, where he will receive the Icon Award from Coldplay frontman Chris Martin and rapper Lil Nas X.

Now organisers have revealed Lovato, Carlile, and H.E.R. will hit the stage in Elton's honour, with each artist chosen to represent different aspects of the Brit's varied musical personality, reports Billboard.com.

The rock superstar will become only the second Icon Award honouree, following in Bon Jovi's footsteps in 2018, when they were praised for their global impact on pop culture, longevity, and continued relevance as a touring and radio force.

The iHeartRadio Music Awards will be hosted by Usher from The Dolby Theatre, where he will also perform, alongside the likes of The Weeknd and Ariana Grande, Doja Cat, Bruno Mars, and Anderson .Paak as Silk Sonic, and Dan + Shay.

Rapper Roddy Ricch leads all 2021 nominees with seven nods.

The hip-hop hitmaker will compete for Male Artist of the Year, Hip-Hop Artist of the Year, and New Hip-Hop Artist of the Year, while his DaBaby collaboration, "Rockstar", is up for the Song of the Year honour, for which they will compete against The Weeknd's "Blinding Lights", "Circles" by Post Malone, Dua Lipa's "Don't Start Now", and Harry Styles' "Watermelon Sugar".

Ricch also has a high chance of winning the Hip-Hop Song of the Year title as he earns three nods in that category alone for "Rockstar", "The Box", and "High Fashion" (featuring Mustard), although "Rockstar" is oddly missing from the nominees for Best Collaboration, which is instead made up of "Savage (Remix)" by Megan Thee Stallion and Beyonce Knowles, Chris Brown and Young Thug's "Go Crazy", "Holy" from Justin Bieber and Chance the Rapper, "Mood" by 24kGoldn and iann dior, and Gabby Barrett and Charlie Puth's "I Hope".
