Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama will provide words of encouragement during the Dear Class of 2020 event, honouring seniors receiving their high school diplomas from self-isolation.
The YouTube ceremony, on June 6, 2020 via the streaming platform learnathome.withyoutube.com, will also feature appearances from Malala Yousafzai, Kelly Rowland, Kerry Washington, Chloe x Halle, and Zendaya.
Separately, Obama is set to deliver a commencement message during "Graduate Together: America Honors the High School Class of 2020" on May 16, 2020. The virtual gathering will also feature the Jonas Brothers, Yara Shahidi, Bad Bunny, Lena Waithe, Pharrell Williams, and H.E.R..
