AceShowbiz - The highly anticipated collaboration between Lady Gaga and Doechii for the upcoming Devil Wears Prada 2 soundtrack has arrived with a striking new music video for their track "Runway."
Directed by Parris Goebel and released on April 27, the visual showcases the two artists confidently strutting down a catwalk in a series of avant-garde fashion ensembles. Their looks are a mix of daring shapes, vibrant colors, and innovative concepts that highlight the theme of runway glamour and empowerment.
At one memorable moment, Gaga and Doechii share a dramatic crimson jacket designed to fit two people, complemented by matching long, platinum wigs. Other standout outfits include Doechii’s black bodysuit and Gaga’s white, bedazzled bodysuit, both covering everything except their eyes and mouths. The video also features them in elaborate Marie Antoinette-inspired ball gowns, and Gaga stuns in a ceramic-style dress that evokes the image of a tea kettle.
The lyrics of "Runway" perfectly capture their message of confidence and style: "Yes, let 'em know I'm that girl / Yes, Monday through Sunday / I can turn a dance floor into a runway," they sing. The duo continues, "I ain't scared of no cameras / Born for the runway / You were born for the runway."
Lady Gaga and Doechii first introduced "Runway" in the trailer for Devil Wears Prada 2, which is set to premiere in theaters on May 1. The sequel will reunite Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep as Andrea Sachs and Miranda Priestly, respectively, as they come together to revive the fictional Runway magazine at the heart of the franchise.
Following the trailer’s release, the track was made available for streaming on April 10 and debuted at No. 50 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, marking a successful entry for the collaboration.
In addition to Hathaway and Streep, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci will also reprise their roles in the film, which arrives 20 years after the original 2006 release.
The "Runway" video is a vivid celebration of fashion, artistry, and bold self-expression, perfectly aligning with the stylish legacy of the Devil Wears Prada franchise. Fans can watch the full video on major streaming platforms and anticipate the film’s release later this week.
