AceShowbiz - The 2018 Teen Choice Awards has revealed its winners during a fun night at The Forum in Los Angeles on Sunday, August 12. Hosted by Nick Cannon and Lele Pons, the award-giving event honored the talents of the past year's biggest names in movies, TV, music and more.
In the TV department, The CW's "Riverdale" owned the night as it walked away with nine trophies. Fans had chosen the teen drama starring Cole Sprouse and KJ Apa as the best drama TV show, beating out "Empire", "This Is Us" and "Famous in Love" among others.
"Riverdale" also claimed the trophy for Choice Drama TV Actor for Cole, Choice Drama TV Actress for Lili Reinhart, and Choice TV Villain for Mark Consuelos. Rumors lovebirds Cole and Lili additionally won Choice Liplock and Choice TV Ship.
"Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments", meanwhile, was announced as the winner of Choice Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Show, with star Matthew Daddario being honored as Choice Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Actor. "Stranger Things" actress Millie Bobby Brown nabbed the trophy for Choice Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Actress category for his stunning portrayal of Eleven on the Netflix series.
The trophy for Choice Action TV Show category went for The CW's "The Flash". The titular character depicter Grant Gustin, meanwhile, received the honor of Choice Action TV Actor. "Supergirl" actress Melissa Benoist, on the other hand, successfully convinced the teenagers to vote her as the best action TV actress.
Other winners in the TV category included "The Big Bang Theory", "Keeping Up with the Kardashians", "So You Think You Can Dance", "Friends" and Chrissy Teigen. The 2018 Teen Choice Awards also handed out surfboards to winners in music, movie and digital categories.
