The 'Strip That Down' singer releases a brand new single which tells about the one time his baby mama tried to dump him.

AceShowbiz - Liam Payne releases a new solo single. Called "Bedroom Floor", it's co-written by Charlie Puth. It's Payne's third post-One Direction song after Quavo-assisted "Strip That Down" and a duet with Zedd called "Get Low".

"Baby, heard you've been talking about me lately /Telling all your friends how much you hate me /But who you calling up when you get lonely?" he sings to an unnamed lover. "You said it was over /But your clothes say different on my bedroom floor."

The song is inspired by his relationship with Cheryl. "There's one song that is basically phone call that happened between me and her when she was about to let it go," he said back in May. "This is a long time ago. And it's basically me trying to cling on and say: 'No, no, no it's all going to work out, don't worry about it, give it time.' "

The dancey song was approved by his baby mama. "It's been her favourite from the start," he said. It's the second offering from Payne's upcoming solo studio album. It's initially set to be the lead single but he eventually decided to release "Strip That Down" first. "Naturally, it could only be the next one," the 24-year-old British singer said. He added in another interview, "It's just a great song, I can never listen to it and get bored. And all my family loves it as well, so I've got to give it some love."

The title and release date of his album are still kept under wraps, but the father of one teased what to expect, "It's very eclectic. It's more like my playlist album; my favorite playlist of songs that I have made over the past year. So, some slow jams, there's a couple of dance songs on there, with some R&B stuff. So there's a lot -- it's a lot of different stuff."

Liam Payne is expected to perform his new songs at the upcoming iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour. He joins his former bandmate Niall Horan and the likes of The Chainsmokers, Kesha, Camila Cabello, Julia Michaels, Demi Lovato, Nick Jonas, Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, Halsey, Fall Out Boy, Kelly Clarkson and Fifth Harmony. The annual holiday festivity will kick off November 28 and wrap up December 17. Payne is booked for every single date except for December 10 in Boston.
