AceShowbiz - Liam Payne's untimely death in October last year left millions in shock. The singer, aged 31, tragically fell from his hotel balcony in Buenos Aires. His girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, an influencer, had been with him until two days prior to the incident. As she navigates through the grief, she recently found solace in an unexpected place - a yellow gown and worn-out shoes.
"This dress actually brings me so much peace and comfort," Cassidy shared in a tearful TikTok video. "The memory that me and Liam had in this dress was a memory I will never forget."
Cassidy recounted the story behind the outfit, which she wore to her first-ever wedding, that of her friends Madison Donnan and Matthew Kenner last August. The wedding took place in Paris, a destination that also hosted the last joyful moments that Kate and Liam shared together.
She recalled how they "danced the night away," turning her practically new white stilettos into worn-out relics of a treasured evening.
Kate explained her hesitation to go through the boxes containing mementos of her last days with Liam, saying, "I have just been absolutely dreading opening up these boxes and going through these things because they're just like the things I had in the last couple of months and weeks with Liam."
She continued, "We just had the best time. The next morning, I woke up and I said to Liam, 'Oh my god, look at these shoes, they're so ruined. I don't know what to do with them.' And I'm so glad I didn't throw these out."
Madison Donnan also reminisced about Liam's efforts to attend the wedding, revealing the extraordinary lengths he went to in order to make it to Paris in time. "Liam left filming to catch a red eye and make it to our wedding. He waited at the end of the aisle to be the first to congratulate us," shared Madison.
"His infectious laughter and genuine interest left a lasting impression on all those who had the privilege of knowing him," Madison wrote in a tribute.
As Kate continues to process her grief, she finds strength in the small moments and remnants of their time together. "This memory is literally embedded in these shoes," she said, holding onto the physical and emotional imprints of their shared journey.
