AceShowbiz - In September 2024, weeks before Liam Payne's sudden death, his psychiatrist reportedly advised him to seek a "higher level of care" than she could provide. The psychiatrist, who had been treating Payne for mental health struggles, noted in a letter obtained by TMZ that her decision was made after "careful consideration and assessment."
According to the letter, Payne's psychiatrist urged him to continue therapy, adhering to prescribed medications responsibly, and avoiding heavy drinking. She also recommended weekly therapy, appointments with a primary care physician, and further testing.
Despite discontinuing her psychiatric care for Payne, she provided him with a list of rehab facilities and doctors to assist in his mental health journey.
Tragically, Payne suffered a relapse in October 2024, culminating in his fatal fall from a balcony in Buenos Aires. The circumstances surrounding his death have sparked controversy, leading to five individuals being charged, including a hotel employee accused of supplying him with drugs.
In 2023, Payne had publicly acknowledged his addiction struggles and celebrated six months of sobriety after completing a 100-day rehab program. However, his relapse unfortunately resulted in his untimely demise.
