Kendall Jenner will skip Victoria's Secret Fashion Show this year. The 21-year-old model won't join the Angels when they hit the runway to model the brand's latest lingerie collection at the annual show which is held in Shanghai, China later this year.
Kendall's alliance with VS rival, La Perla, apparently forced her to ditch the annual VS show. According to TMZ, the "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star signed a multimillion-dollar deal with La Perla to lead the brand's new campaign.
Kendall has been promoting La Perla on and off social media in the past few months. She even wore La Perla gown at the Met Gala this year. She showed a lot of skin and left little to imagination as she only wore a lacy thongs underneath the sheer dress.
This year, Victoria's Secret show will be made merry by Bella Hadid, Gigi Hadid, Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Behati Prinsloo, Candice Swanepoel, Lily Aldridge, Elsa Hosk, Jasmine Tookes, Josephine Skriver, Lais Ribeiro, Martha Hunt, Romee Strijd, Sara Sampaio, Stella Maxwell and Taylor Hill. It will air on CBS November 28.
In related news, Kendall who first walked the VS runway in 2015 and returned to the show in 2016 came under fire after she was announced to receive Fashion Icon of the Decade at New York Fashion Week on September 8 at the Four Seasons Hotel Downtown. Many believed she was too young to receive the special honor.
"Girl poses with the same old boring face, didn't even do 10 diverse photo shoots & y'all giving her 'Fashion Icon Of The decade' ... Tragic," one commented on Twitter. Another wrote, "Decade???? she was 11 a decade ago??? have you SEEN what the kardashians were wearing 10 years ago???" A Twitter user even said the award should go to RiRi, "Im sorry is Rihanna dead? did she die and no one told me? why is she receiving this?"
