AceShowbiz - "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" leads nominations for the 37th annual Golden Rasberry Awards a.k.a. The Razzies. The DCEU movie gets eight nominations, including worst picture of 2016. "Dirty Grandpa", "Gods of Egypt", "Hillary's America: The Secret History of the Democratic Party", "Independence Day: Resurgence" and "Zoolander 2" are also listed in the worst picture category.
In addition, Batman depicter Ben Affleck is up for worst actor, despite the fact that he won 2015 Razzie Redeemer prize for his transition from "Gigli" to Oscar-winning picture "Argo" and the critically-acclaimed "Gone Girl". Affleck is nominated alongside co-star Henry Cavill, Gerard Butler, Robert De Niro, Dinesh D'Souza and Ben Stiller for Razzie Awards' worst actor.
"Zoolander 2" is also among the top nominees. In addition to worst picture and worst actor, the Stiller-starring flick is nominated for worst supporting actress (Kristen Wiig), worst supporting actor (Owen Wilson), worst screen combo (Stiller and his BFF Wilson) and worst director (Stiller).
Megan Fox, Tyler Perry, Julia Roberts, Becky Turner, Shailene Woodley and Naomi Watts are nominated for worst actress, while Julianne Hough, Kate Hudson, Aubrey Plaza, Jane Seymour and Sela Ward are among the nominees for worst supporting actress.
The Razzie Awards' organizers said that the number of nominees expanded from five to six. "The crop of cinematic crap in 2016 was so extensive that this year's 37th annual Razzie Awards is expanding the number of nominees from the usual five to an unprecedented six contenders in each of its nine worst achievement in film categories," they said in press release.
The ceremony will be held on February 25, a day before the Academy Awards is held.
