The Michael B.Jordan-starrer and the N.W.A. movie lead movie nominees for the February awards show with six and five nods each including Outstanding Motion Picture.

AceShowbiz - Nominees for the 47th annual NAACP Image Awards were announced on Tuesday, December 8 with "Creed" in the lead for movie category. The "Rocky" spin-off leads the pack with a total of six nominations including Outstanding Motion Picture.
The boxing movie is up against "Beasts of No Nation", "Concussion", "Dope" and "Straight Outta Compton" to win the Outstanding Motion Picture. "Creed" is also nominated in Outstanding Actor in a Motion Picture for Michael B. Jordan and Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture for its two female cast members Phylicia Rashad and Tessa Thompson.
Another movie dominating the list are "Straight Outta Compton" and "Beasts of No Nation". "Compton" came up in several categories including Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture for Corey Hawkins and O'Shea Jackson Jr. and Outstanding Writing in a Motion Picture (Film) for screenwriters Andrea Berloff and Jonathan Herman. The N.W.A. film gets a total of five nods in movie category, followed by the Idris Elba-starrer which bags four nominations.
Meanwhile, Jordan is up for the top award, Entertainer of the Year. He is joined by Misty Copeland, Pharrell Williams, Shonda Rimes and Viola Davis in the category.
Winners in all fields, including music and TV, will be announced on February 5 during a two-hour ceremony airing live on TV One.
