Solange Knowles

Solange Knowles returns with her long-awaited third studio album "A Seat at the Table". The album was widely acclaimed by music critics and became Solange's first No. 1 album on Billboard 200 with 72,000 total copies sold in its first week.

With her latest achievement, Solange and her sister Beyonce Knowles joined a few pairs of solo siblings to score No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 chart, including Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson, Master P and his brother Silkk the Shocker, Ashlee Simpson and Jessica Simpson as well as Toni Braxton and Tamar Braxton.

Six tracks off "A Seat at the Table" debuted on the Hot R&B Songs chart, including "Cranes In The Sky" at No. 11, "Don't Touch My Hair" featuring Sampha at No. 14, "Mad" featuring Lil Wayne at No. 17, "Weary" at No. 19, "F.U.B.U." featuring The-Dream and BJ The Chicago Kid at No. 22, and "Rise" at No. 25.

The album also features collaborations with Kelly Rowland, Q-Tip and Kelela among others.

Solange and her husband Alan Ferguson directed two music videos "Don't Touch My Hair" and "Cranes in the Sky".

"A Seat at the Table" follows Solange's second studio album "Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams" which was released in 2008. While recording her third album, the "Losing You" hitmaker released an EP entitled "True" in 2012 and launched her own record label, Saint Records, in 2013.

SOLANGE KNOWLES BIO

Solange Knowles is an American R&B singer-songwriter and the younger sister of Beyonce Knowles. She was born on June 24, 1986, in Houston, Texas to mom Tina and dad Matthew Knowles. She started out as a backup dancer for her sister's band Destiny's Child on their tour. She first sang professionally on their holiday album, "8 Days of Christmas".
