Disturbed were formed in around 1994 under the moniker Brawl with Dan Donegan, Steve "Fuzz" Kmak, Mike Wengren and Erich Awalt. When Awalt left the band shortly after they recorded a demo, David Draiman auditioned for the vacant slot and was accepted. In 1996, they officially changed their band's name to Disturbed.
