CHRIS HOWE (26) rides his bike on a winding back road enjoying the perfect summer night. SMASHCUT TO: Chris on his back in the roadside grass, gasping, confused. The front wheel from his crumpled bike spins slowly. Then the action REWINDS, his bike arcing through the air. A HORN BLARES, warped, distorted. A look of terror on Chris' face REVERSES into a SMILE as Chris rides his bike again...happy... and then Chris AWAKES from this dream. He looks over at a wheelchair near his bed, reality arriving with the morning. We watch Chris, a paraplegic, transfer to his wheelchair, dress, and straighten a tie. Later, Chris charms an HR rep at a job interview. He's hawking his expertise with computer systems; the last two years in a wheelchair spent developing those skills. The HR guy likes him, is sure they'll find something. They shake hands, Chris rolls out of the office...and VANISHES.
Our investigation hits the ground running when our agents realize that Chris was in the middle of a heated lawsuit about his accident. His personal hard drive has been erased and his medical records are missing. With millions of dollars at stake, could someone have wanted Chris to disappear rather than pay out? We interrogate a Private Eye who'd been pressuring Chris to drop the suit and learn that this detective found explicit on-line chats between an older man and a teenage girl. These bizarre clues lead our agents to discover that Chris, once a police cadet, was involved in Twisted Justice, a vigilante organization. Could their work outing sexual predators have caused one to seek revenge on Chris? Or is it possible that he took his vigilante role too far? The investigation turns when Chris' brother reluctantly confesses that there is more to Chris' accident, a shocking truth that Chris kept hidden. Coming clean could have made Chris a target and his need to tell all in order to move forward may have cost him his life.
