Ariana (27) talks with a traumatized Fran in a small bedroom. Fran: I don't know if I can do this. Ariana: Just look at me. Don't look at anything but me. Ariana opens the door and guides Fran past a grisly crime scene. Morgue and Crime Scene Techs process two bullet-riddled bodies. Ariana escorts a shaken Fran to a waiting ambulance and promises to check on her at the hospital. As the vehicle pulls away, Fran watches Ariana through the back window...and Ariana vanishes.
Our investigation focuses on Ariana's work as a Victims' Advocate for the NYPD, a job that brings her into contact with many violent and dangerous people. Fran's husband Andrew, the prime suspect in the double homicide in the teaser, pops as Ariana's most likely abductor. Just as it appears that Andrew did indeed kill Ariana, there's news of a brazen abduction in a shopping mall. A four year old girl named Maddy has been snatched in broad daylight. Our new Agent in Charge, Clark Medina shifts all resources onto the child abduction, leaving only Martin to wrap up Ariana's case.
