A teenage violinist goes missing from her dressing room before a big show. It appears that she has been abducted and the team anticipate that a ransom call may be received. Numerous suspects appear and a deranged fan, known to have been stalking the missing girl, seems likely to be responsible. However, the girl's violin is taken as well, and the team learn that it is worth half a million dollars. Martin goes undercover in order to track it down and when he does, even more suspects and motives appear. During the course of the investigation, it is revealed that the girl's stepfather has a shady past and that the missing teenager has been involved in a romance with her manager's son. When drugs are discovered in her bedroom, it seems that in this case, anything is possible.
