Henri tells Sean and Vicky exactly where to find Dempsey's temporary lodgings. Dempsey's expedition in the Jura Mountains seems to be concluding, so Sean and Vicky will have to leave right away. They can ambush Dempsey at his chateau by entering through an eastern service road. Later, Vicky asks Sean what he's planning on doing with Dempsey. Sean says he wants to turn Dempsey in to the French police, but Vicky scoffs at the idea. Sean doesn't stand a chance against a twisted billionaire. Vicky says there's only one way to win: Dempsey needs to die. Sean doesn't reply but tells Vicky good news: he's deactivated the software that would expose the identity of Vicky's son. She is free to go if she pleases.

At the Chateau de Perrault, Dr. Crowe shows Dempsey an ancient amphora covered in symbols. Dr. Crowe dates the amphora to the third millennium B.C., and says the glyphs tell the origin story of a group of guardian sentinels tasked with protecting mankind. Suddenly, Dempsey destroys the amphora and reveals a parchment scroll, hidden inside. Sean gets ready to drive to Dempsey's chateau when Vicky joins him in the passenger seat. Even though she's free to leave, Vicky wants to help Sean kill Dempsey. Vicky did unimaginably terrible things on behalf of Dempsey and helping to murder him might be the only way she can put her dark past behind her.

Martinez holds a press conference in order to tell the public that he's going to find the terrorist group that destroyed the Washington Monument. Christina approaches Martinez later and asks why he's forcing everyone in the White House to undergo DNA testing. When Martinez reveals that it's a way to test for Sleeper DNA, Christina immediately objects, saying the testing is a violation of civil liberties. At the Sleeper community, Simon asks Sophia how she intends to bring two billion inhabitants of their home planet to Earth. Sophia says there is a way as long as she can open a sustainable line of communication with the leaders "back home." Simon admits that he objects to Sophia's plan. After all, what will happen to the humans? In spite of his reservations, Simon pledges his loyalty to Sophia.

Leila tells Michael that she objects to being followed by Luis. Michael apologizes but says these are Sophia's orders. Leila wants to know how long she will be forced to stay in this strange community. Simon enters, interrupting the conversation. Simon takes Michael aside and tells him they have to stop Sophia's plan. Innocent humans shouldn't be killed to make room for their people. Simon manages to convince Michael that he and Leila should escape and warn the human population. Leila overhears. En route to Dempsey's chateau, Vicky correctly guesses that Sean's nervous about having to kill Dempsey. Suddenly, men overtake Sean's car. It's an ambush!

A shootout ensues and Sean is able to escape. A man captures Vicky and brings her to Dempsey. Dempsey tells Vicky that they are actually on the same side. Dempsey is a sentinel and his duty is to protect mankind against "them." Dempsey orders his men to kill Vicky. Meanwhile, Sean ambushes Henri at his house. He knows Henri set him up and if Henri doesn't reveal where Dempsey really is - and where he's keeping Vicky - Henri's as good as dead. Senator Lewis says that the White House DNA testing is in progress, but that Christina refuses to be tested. Senator Lewis suggests Christina might be a Sleeper, but Martinez disregards her concern. However, it's clear Lewis' words resonate with Martinez.

Sean tortures Henri until he reveals Dempsey's whereabouts. Meanwhile, Michael turns in Simon to Sophia and the other Sleepers. Simon tells Sophia he will never support a genocide. Sophia replies, "Then today I lost a second son." From across the street, Leila watches these events, clearly siding with Simon and not her father. Dempsey's men tie up Vicky and light a fire beside her. She'll be dead in a matter of moments.
