The actor/director Griffin Dunne has been given permission to reveal all about the fabled hotel's history in a new film, "Chateau Marmont".
Dunne will interview famous friends who have stayed there and unearth secrets and little known facts about the place.
He tells WENN, "Everybody has got a story about that place but we're in the very early stages. It's really gonna be a place that serves as a window to the history of Hollywood and how it affects our culture through all the lives and the deaths and generations of family that have stayed there; how all roads tend to lead back to the Chateau."
"It's sort of a Zelig-like figure in Hollywood history. I want to speak to retired cops who've been called to the hotel, getting the call about the Manson killings. There's so much going on there that once I get into it, it can turn into a four-month marathon."
