The goth rocker creates musical creation for Gisli Orn Garoarsson's ambitious new stage performance which will be opened at London's Young Vic this weekend.

AceShowbiz - Goth rocker Nick Cave has penned the score for actor Gisli Orn Gardarsson's ambitious new stage adaptation of "Faust". Cave's latest musical creation will be heard when the production opens at London's Young Vic this weekend, on September 25.

"Prince of Persia: Sands of Time" star Gardarsson, the director of the piece, says, "It was really inspiring working with Nick Cave and his violinist Warren Ellis and seeing how they work. They are the perfect recipe for this play because it's so rock 'n' roll and the music is very theatrical."

The production marks the third time the trio have worked together - Cave and Ellis also scored the soundtrack to Gardarsson's plays "Metamorphosis" and "Woyzeck".

"I saw them playing a concert in Iceland in 2005 and saw their energy brought to life," director Gardarsson continued. "Warren was hammering this violin and the girls were going bananas. After that I approached them to do Woyzeck."
