The actor of 'The Vampire Diaries and his wife Reed were completely transfixed on an NYC street as they gazed up at the natural phenomenon after attending the UNEP Champion of the Earth.

AceShowbiz - Ian Somerhalder and his wife Nikki Reed were just as amazed as other people when they saw the first super moon with lunar eclipse in 33 years. The couple was completely transfixed on an NYC street as they gazed up at the natural phenomenon on Sunday night, September 27.
The newlyweds wore black formal attires as they had attended the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Champion of the Earth event at Cipriani restaurant. Somerhalder was pictured wearing a black suit and a matching tie while toting some books and a white gadget charger. Meanwhile, Reed looked chic in a black and blue dress topped with black blazer.
During the rehearsal at the event, the actor of "The Vampire Diaries" posted on Instagram a black-and-white selfie with his wife. The two got close to each other while smiling at the camera. Somerhalder captioned it, "We're here! I'm rehearsing with my beautiful wife @iamnikkireed To host the #UNEPChampions Gala," he wrote.
Following the black-and-white selfie, the 36-year-old actor posted a picture taken by Chief Operating Officer of news company RYOT, Molly DeWolf Swenson. The latter picture showed Somerhalder taking a selfie with his wife. "Here... #UNEPChampions shot by @mollydewolf for @ryotnews," read the caption.
According to the official UNEP website, Somerhalder has been supporting environmental causes for years. In 2010, the actor launched the Ian Somerhalder Foundation (ISF) which distributes "funds and resources towards global environmental conservation, green energy development, deployment and educational tools. It also aims to create awareness about deforestation and supports efforts to end animal cruelty."
