Tom Hardy Is a Likely Candidate to Be the Next James Bond
Movie

The 'Mad Max: Fury Road' actor seems to be a likely candidate to play the next English spy as an online bookmaker reports that the actor gains on previous favorites to take over the role.

AceShowbiz - Following rumors that "Spectre" may be Daniel Craig's last James Bond movie, bookmakers are placing bets on which actor will next play Bond. Latest report says that BoyleSports, an online bookmaker based in Ireland, has considered British actor Tom Hardy as a new favorite to replace Craig.

"The next 'James Bond' market has certainly come alive with all the support coming in for Tom Hardy, who is now 4/1 from 6/1 to take over from Daniel Craig," said BoyleSports spokesman Liam Glynn in a statement.

"With the support showing no signs of drying up, we are expecting Tom Hardy to be the new favorite for the role sooner rather than later, which could result in BoyleSports being hit hard if Hardy lands the role," Glynn added.

Hardy climbs the chart of the bet, joining the existing favorites Idris Elba and Damian Lewis. Elba has long been the favorite and the only name to be officially mentioned by Sony. Elba is tied with the former "Homeland" actor as forerunner for the race with betting odds 3/1. Henry Cavill is also on the contention with BoyleSports slashing the odds at 4/1, same as Hardy.

The news that Hardy gains on the current favorites comes right after recent social media protest against author Anthony Horowitz who said that Elba was "too street" to play the secret agent.

Other men rounding out the top 10 for the bookmaker are Michael Fassbender, Richard Armitage, Orlando Bloom, Dougray Scott, Rupert Friend and Dominic West.
