'Should we do one, that would bring it more into modern gaming, not just arcade cabinet,' so director Rich Moore says of his idea for the possible 'Wreck-It Ralph 2'.

AceShowbiz - After scoring a record-breaking debut on box office, "Wreck-It Ralph" might get a sequel treatment. Hinting at the possibility was none other than director Rich Moore himself. While the first movie focused on characters from famous arcade games, Moore teased that if there's a chance to make a follow-up movie, he would like to explore the online gaming world.

"Should we be so lucky to do a sequel, I think it'd be great to explore online gaming, home games," so Moore said in a recent interview as quoted by /Film. "We have some ideas of how we could - it was fun to begin it in an arcade. And I think that that really tapped into the nostalgia that that has attached to it."

Elaborating more on the possible "Wreck-It Ralph 2", Moore dished, "But if we were to do a sequel I think we need to bring up to date." He continued, "We're working on ideas, should we do one, that would bring it more into modern gaming, not just arcade cabinets."

"Wreck-It Ralph" was released on November 2 and opened to a strong $49 million, marking the biggest debut for a Disney Animation Studios movie (not including Pixar titles). The movie featured a number of fan-favorite characters from classic arcade games like Sonic the Hedgehog, Super Mario Bros, Q*Bert, Street Fighter, Joust, Pac-Man and many more.

The animated movie has John C. Reilly voicing the titular character, joined by Jane Lynch, Sarah Silverman, Jack McBrayer, Ed O'Neill, Alan Tudyk, Stefanie Scott, Rachael Harris and Mindy Kaling.
