"Dancing with the Stars" has crowned Donald Driver and his pro partner Peta Murgatroyd as the champions of season 14. The NFL wide receiver beat out frontrunners Katherine Jenkins and William Levy to snatch the mirrorball trophy in the Tuesday, May 22 finale.
Before the final results were announced, the three pairs performed the "24 Hour Challenge" dance. William and Cheryl Burke danced the salsa, Katherine and Mark Ballas performed a jive, while Donald and Peta danced the cha-cha. Each pair earned 30 points from the judges.
After the scores were combined with audience's votes, it was revealed that Donald nabbed the first place. "This is awesome," so the Green Bay Packers star said when asked how he felt about his win.
Katherine, who set the bar high since early of the season, placed second. She thanked her partner Mark and all of her fans before stating, "It's been an absolute dream." Meanwhile, William who finished third told the crowd, "I thank you guys for all you have done for us."
Also that night, the eliminated contestants including Sherri Shepherd, Jaleel White and Maria Menounos returned to the dance floor. Taking the stage as musical guests were "American Idol" alum Kelly Clarkson and Gladys Knight, who was eliminated earlier on "DWTS" this season.

I congratulate Donald on his win. He was truly a fantastic dancer and had such a great personality. However, I feel that Katherine definitely deserved to win. She was such a great dancer and was do determined, I was SURE she would win. But she didn't, and it just goes to show how DWTS is a popularity contest, NOT a dancing contest. Katherine really should have won and I am very, VERY disappointed. IT doesn't matter anyway, she is still the champion to ME. :)

Katherine should have won, I was truly disappointed this season. They need to lose audience votes and just judge the dancers. Maria should not have been voted off and it came down to a popularity contest,clearly William Levy should have won, not Donald.
Donald was indeed the most improved of the three, he wanted to do it right. However you have all forgotten about Maria who should have been in the final 3. wow John S. - what creative language! Let me guess - 3rd grade education? oh, not quite? A few more questions - who are your neighbors...that are human? Have you ever been employed? NO? shocking. This is 2012 not 1950...but hey you can use the internet and watch dancing with the stars...strange indeed.
Donald really wanted that mirrorball trophy. William and Katherine are much better dancers. Cheryl and Mark's choregraphy was better all season than Peta too. But, they really whipped that freestyle hard and took it. Katherine really danced her freestyle and William and Cheryl's freestyle was good but needed more original content and costumes. Donald wanted it more badly than the rest. Winning will be a post football career boost for him. William is now super popular so winning not that big a deal.
I will never watch this show again. It is a waste of time. The whole thing is rigged or else the people voting are really, really stupid.
Katherine was without question the best dancer. In my opinion it should have been: Katherine #1, William #2 and Donald #3. These shows are not judging best performances, rather most popular contestants.

I think Donald was great but when trying to call in they closed the phone lines for Katherine before the time was up. I have talked to a number of people that had the same problem. Makes me think DWTS is rigged.
Every season I watch, wait and hope that the best dancer will take home the mirror ball - and every season I'm disappointed. Maria should have stayed on and Donald should have gone home. Donald definitely had the strength to do the lifts but as far as being a skilled dancer - he was clearly outshined by Katherine, Maria and William. It is obvious that the winner has the largest fan base and of course Donald had that. As far as the judges - toward the end they were handing out 10's like they were Tic Tacs. Katherine should have been the one to carry home the mirror ball but for all her talent and grace - she was overlooked. Oh well - perhaps next season will be different. Or perhaps I need to stop being so optomistic.

Donald hardly moved his feet. Posing and lifting does not a dancer make. Len was right, he needed more content. I'm sick of Bruno and Carrie raving for shirtless men and wiggling butts. They're not dancers.

Donald Really? Obviously it is not about who is the best dancer. He should have gone home instead of Maria. She was much better with multiple injuries. And if she didn't win it should have been Katherine. Do the people really vote for the winners. I have my doubts.

I think they got it right last night on DWTS. Donald's freestyle blew the other's out of the water and he peaked at the right time. He also came from a background of no dance experience unlike the other two finalists. Kudos DWTS.
