Alicia Keys experienced a stage mishap when performing at this year's Essence Music Festival at the Superdome in New Orleans on Saturday night, July 3. The pregnant singer stumbled backward and landed on her bottoms.
The "No One" hitmaker fell when singing "Love Is Blind". She quickly stood up and then reached out a chair nearby. During the rest of the set, she sat behind a piano and finished the song like nothing ever happened before.
2010 Essence Music Festival was held for three days, beginning July 2 with Janet Jackson performing on the opening day. She delivered among other songs, "The Pleasure Principle", "Control", "Rhythm Nation" and "Nothing". She even invited a lucky male fan for a raunchy sequence which included whip and crotch grabbing.
Other musical guests at the three-day festivity included Monica, Charlie Wilson, Raphael Saadiq, Chrisette Michele, Estelle, LL Cool J, Keri Hilson, Melanie Fiona and Trey Songz.
