David Guetta's single "When Love Takes Over" which features Kelly Rowland rose to number 1 on Billboard Hot Dance Airplay chart. The track reigned the chart for three consecutive weeks, selling more than 100,000 copies.
So far, that's the longest-running number 1 for David on that list. In 2007, he secured the top spot of the chart for two weeks with "The World Is Mine" (featuring JD Davis). Later that year, the musician who was named 2005 House Music Awards' Best DJ of the Year returned as the chart's champ again for one week with "Love Is Gone" (featuring Chris Willis).
Beside sitting atop Hot Dance Airplay chart, "When Love Takes Over" also peaked at the top spot on Billboard Hot Dance Club Songs chart. "I'm not trying to be credible," David said when commenting on what he did to make hits.
"I'm trying to be incredible. It's very easy to be underground because you just have to obey a set of codes. It's very formulaic. But it's also very easy to be totally pop, because it's very formulaic too. I'm trying to do something different. Everything I'm trying to do - in my DJing, my production - is about sharing emotion. When I'm making music in the studio that's all I'm looking for. It's what matters the most!"
"When Love Takes Over" is scheduled to appear in David Guetta's upcoming fourth studio album "One Love". The chart topper single will be sung by David and Kelly at the 58th Annual Miss Universe Pageant which will be held at the Atlantis Paradise Island, in Nassau, Bahamas on August 23.
Beside teaming up with Kelly Rowland, David Guetta also tags Akon, Kid Cudi, will.i.am, Ne-Yo and Estelle as his collaborators in the new album which is due for August 24 U.S. release. Most recently, he has dropped Akon-featuring single "Sexy Bitch" on iTunes.
