Soon after director Jon Favreau revealed that she won't be taking the Black Widow part in "Iron Man 2", Emily Blunt comes up with a response, confirming the claim and expressing her disappointment. Responding to Roger Moore of The Orlando Sentinel's assuring words that sequel is almost never as good as the original, she says, "I'm glad you said that, not me. It's a little disappointing is all I can say."
Though bummed by the result, the 26-year-old actress still keeps a positive attitude towards "Gulliver's Travels". "I'm okay," the Norah Lorkowski of "Sunshine Cleaning" shares. "Because I just have to do this Fox movie, and it's fine and I'm gonna have fun. The whole beginning of the year has been rather dramatic, so I'd just rather go in with fresh eyes and know that I've made the right decision. You just don't know until it's all finished and done with, do you?"
Since late January, Emily Blunt's participation in "Iron Man" sequel has been put under big question mark after reports came in, suggesting that conflicting shooting schedules and a contractual obligation with 20th Century Fox's remake of "Gulliver's Travels" may cost her the Black Widow role. After weeks of speculations, Jon Favreau has reportedly stated at an Oscars aftershow party that the actress definitely won't be seen in the movie.
To be directed by "Iron Man" helmer Jon Favreau, "Iron Man 2" will start its principal photography in early April with Robert Downey Jr. and Gwyneth Paltrow reprising their roles as Tony Stark/Iron Man and Pepper Potts respectively. Another confirmed cast member is Don Cheadle who will take on Colonel James 'Rhodey' Rhodes in place of Terrence Howard. Written by Justin Theroux, it will see U.S. big screen on May 7, 2010.
