Amy Winehouse's incarcerated husband Blake Fielder-Civil has threatened to divorce her, it has been reported.
Blake, who currently remains in Pentonville prison for alleged assault and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice, is said to have threatened to issue divorce proceedings following a recent row.
Amy's father Mitch Winehouse revealed that matter, told Grazia Magazine "Blake threatened to issue divorce proceedings when they were having a row" added "He has said things like, 'I want a divorce.'"
Mitch, furthermore, thought that Blake's mom, Georgette Civil, encouraged him to seek a divorce and cut Amy out of his life. "Unfortunately, Blake is influenced by things his mother has said. I think Georgette wants them to divorce, but it's up to them," Mitch was quoted as saying.
As of Amy, Mitch said that his daughter definitely wanted to stick by her man. "From Amy's point of view, she would stick by him not matter what," he said.
A friend of Amy and Blake has stated that the pair's romance is at breaking point, saying "The Blake and Amy situation is imploding. Blake has been listening to his mother, and he's been hot and cold with Amy when they do meet."
Despite all the publication concerning the divorce, Amy and Blake will remain couple at least until May, time when they will celebrate their first wedding anniversary. Explaining on that matter, a law expert in London said, "Under English law, no divorce proceedings could be commenced until a year has passed since the date of the marriage."
That being so, Amy and Blake both are still bound by their country's marital laws and thus, would not be allowed to divorce until May.
Rumors were mounting last week that Blake was furious that Amy spent the holiday in the Caribbean with ex boyfriend Tyler James and partied with friend Mark Ronson despite her spokesperson's denial of any romance.
Hot on the heels of the divorce talk, Amy was spotted visiting Blake in jail on Thursday, January 17. Unfortunately on her way home she ended up punching a photographer, forced her to be escorted away by passing police. No words just yet on whether the shutterbug plans on filing charges.
