On why she wanted to do so, Gomez explained that Bieber always shakes his head to flick his locks from his face almost in every 45 seconds during their conversation. The "Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over" actress even imitated Bieber when he does that.

Natalie Portman has turned down a lead role in "Gravity", giving a bigger chance to Sandra Bullock to star in the Alfonso Cuaron-directed flick. Reports say "The Proposal" actress is now in negotiations with Warner Bros. Pictures to portray a female astronaut.

Portman was said to be Cuaron's favorite among other actresses who also eyed the part, while Bullock has been Warner Bros.' top choice. A rep for the "Black Swan" beauty, however, has confirmed that she could not be involved in the upcoming project due to scheduling conflicts.

Soul singer Seal refuses to take wife Heidi Klum's advice about his music - because she panned his hit 2008 album "Soul". The "Kiss From a Rose" hitmaker previews his songs for his supermodel spouse, but she has no say over what tracks are included in the finished product.

He explains, "She hears them in their various stages, right from the infantile stages to the finished piece. She's very opinionated, my wife, so she's not backwards in coming forwards. She always lets me know what she thinks. She didn't care much for the 'Soul' album. She said, 'It's not my kind of music'."

After scoring an Oscar, Kathryn Bigelow is eying A-list actors to join her upcoming movie "Triple Frontier". The helmer is reportedly courting Johnny Depp to star opposite Tom Hanks, who has been earlier linked to project, Deadline Hollywood reports.

Singer Davy Jones has announced plans to reform The Monkees, just a year after ruling out a reunion with his bandmates. The "I'm a Believer" hitmakers, who found fame in the 1960s, last performed together in 1997 but, in an interview last year, Jones claimed a Monkees show would never happen again.

He said, "It's not a case of dollars and cents. It's a case of satisfying yourself. I don't have anything to prove. The Monkees proved it for me." However, the singer appears to have had a change of heart - the group is eyeing a string of concerts in 2011.

U.S. pop star Natalie Mejia has escaped jail after pleading guilty to a drugs charge stemming from an arrest in March. The singer, who shot to fame after appearing in The Pussycat Dolls reality TV show Girlicious, was pulled over for speeding in Glendale, California and later arrested after cops searched the car and allegedly found a dozen bags of cocaine in her handbag.

Mejia was charged with felony drug possession, despite insisting she had no idea how the bags had made their way into her purse. She maintained her innocence during a hearing in April, but at an appearance in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Wednesday, October 6, Mejia changed her plea to guilty, according to TMZ.com.

Incarcerated rapper Lil Wayne has pleaded with fans to stop sending him letters to read behind bars, just days after he was placed in isolation for possessing prison contraband. The "Lollipop" hitmaker was recently caught with banned music equipment in his cell at New York's Rikers Island detention center for the second time during his eight-month sentence on illegal weapons charges. He was last reprimanded for the same violation in May.

Wayne was moved to a separate cell and currently spends 23 hours a day in isolation, according to TMZ.com. His only out-of-cell time is restricted to visits, religious services and 60 minutes of recreational time. Meanwhile, his phone privileges have been reduced to just one personal call a week.

"Desperate Housewives" actress Kathryn Joosten has taken aim at the producers of "Mad Men" for the heavy use of smoking in the period TV hit. Former smoker Joosten quit after she was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2001, and, after battling the disease for a second time in 2008, she has become a fervent anti-cigarette activist.

The actress, who plays Karen McClusky on "Desperate Housewives", has called for Mad Men bosses to either cut down on the on-screen smoking or stick a disclaimer in the credits of the show, which is set in the New York advertising agency world of the 1960s, warning fans of the hazards of nicotine.

Kanye West's model ex-girlfriend Amber Rose has shot down rumors she is pregnant with another rapper's baby, insisting the majority of information written about her online is "wrong". Soul singer Dionne Warwick is in mourning after learning about the brutal death of her pregnant goddaughter. Leiah Jackson, 27, was just two weeks short of a full-term pregnancy when she was attacked outside her home in Missouri City, Texas and stabbed 22 times on September 26.

The victim stumbled to her mother's home nearby and was airlifted to hospital - but she and her unborn baby died hours later. Local police have revealed Jackson's fiance, Yancey Daniels, also lost his life - he was shot to death the night before Warwick's goddaughter was attacked.

John Lennon's application for U.S. residency has been banned from auction by officials at the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). The rare piece of memorabilia from the late The Beatles was expected to fetch upwards of $100,000 at a planned Rock & Roll Pop Culture Auction beginning on Wednesday, October 6 - but the FBI has stepped in to remove the item, because it's considered government property.

The document, dated May 8, 1976, features Lennon's finger and thumbprints and his signature. A spokesperson from the auction house confirms to TMZ, "The item has been under investigation by the FBI because it is considered government property."

Actor Dylan McDermott has moved on from his split with ex-wife Shiva Rose - he's reportedly dating soap star Shasi Wells. The former "The Practice" star and Rose ended their 13-year union in January, 2009 - and McDermott appeared to be put off from dating actresses for good.

A new U.S. sitcom has brought former couple Burt Reynolds and Loni Anderson back together, 15 years after they divorced. The pair is set to play warring pensioners living in a retirement home in the untitled show, which being written by "All in the Family" creator Normal Lear, reports the National Enquirer.

Sources tell the tabloid that 74-year-old Reynolds hopes the show will kickstart his career, following his recent lifesaving heart surgery, and Anderson agreed to cast aside the ex-couple's differences after their son Quinton, 22, intervened to broker the deal. An insider tells the Enquirer, "Burt jumped at the chance to make a TV comeback, but he knew that without Loni, the show wouldn't work."

George Clooney has returned to the Sudan in a bid to raise fresh awareness about a possible upcoming civil war which will split the African nation in two. The movie star and his journalist father Nick visited Darfur in 2008 and shot a film chronicling the atrocities of genocide there for unaware Americans, and now Clooney has returned to the nation in the hope of raising awareness of a coming storm of conflict.

The Southern Sudanese will vote for independence in January and that's likely to split Africa's largest country in two, and prompt a north-south war - something Clooney and United Nations officials are keen to avoid. Michael Douglas will complete his cancer treatment this week, according to his publicist. The "Wall Street" star is battling stage four throat cancer and publicist Allan Burry confirms this is the actor's last week of radiation and chemotherapy.

He tells Entertainment Tonight that his famous client plans on taking at least six weeks to recover. Doctors are reportedly pleased with how Douglas has responded and no further treatments have been scheduled.

Good news and bad news came for two different new shows at the same time. While "Raising Hope" receives more episodes order from FOX and officially becomes the first freshman to get full season this Fall, "Outlaw" has to swallow bitter pill as NBC has ordered to stop its production temporarily for a close observation on the rating.

FOX is giving "Raising Hope" faith by ordering back-nine episodes. Rating-wise the dramedy created by Greg Garcia is steadily gaining followers although it has the advantage of a lead-in from "Glee". Now, "Running Wilde" which airs after "Hope" is not taking the same graphic flow and thus its position is in jeopardy.

A Weezer anti-fan has launched an online campaign to stop the band from releasing another album - and he's hoping to raise $10 million to silence them. James Burns, from Seattle, Washington claims he was inspired by friends who are fans of the "Buddy Holly" rockers but disappointed by their recent musical offerings - which he claims have failed to live up to their hit 1996 album "Pinkerton".

Burns has set up a website to help his fundraising efforts, on which he writes, "I have never been a fan of this band. I think that they are pretty much horrible, and always have been. But this isn't about me. This is about the Weezer fans. They are our brothers and sisters, our friends, our lovers. Every year, (frontman) Rivers Cuomo swears that he's changed, and that their new album is the best thing that he's done since 'Pinkerton', and what happens? Rapper Beanie Sigel is facing criminal charges for alleged tax fraud in his native Pennsylvania. Federal prosecutors in Philadelphia allege the hip-hop star, real name Dwight Grant, made $1.5 million from 2002 to 2004, but failed to fill in tax returns, according to court documents filed on Tuesday, October 5.

Defence lawyer Fortunato Perri Jr. claims Sigel was behind bars during some of the years in question, and had others handling his finances, reports the Associated Press. Sigel previously served jail time for drug and weapons charges. He was also locked up in 2008 for violating the terms of his probation.

Country sweetheart Taylor Swift has won a trademark infringement lawsuit filed against street merchants selling counterfeit memorabilia bearing her name and image. The "Love Story" hitmaker took legal action against 16 individuals who were found to be selling fake Swift goods across the U.S. while she was on the road in 2009.

A federal judge in a Nashville, Tennessee court granted the singer a default judgement last week after the defendants failed to respond to the lawsuit. As a result, the 16 street vendors have been banned from manufacturing or selling any further merchandise bearing Swift's face or name.

The son and widow of late R&B singer Teddy Pendergrass are locked in a battle for control over the legend's estate. Teddy Pendergrass II and the singer's second wife, Joan Pendergrass, have produced conflicting wills since the crooner died of colon cancer last January, and they've been quietly fighting for control of his assets, reports The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Pendergrass II claims a will dated May 2009 names him as executor and sole beneficiary, while Joan Pendergrass, who married the singer in 2008, claims a later document, on which she signed her name as the singer's attorney, gives her control. Attorneys for both sides met with a judge last week but failed to reach a compromise.

Rocker Courtney Love has quit Twitter.com after accidentally publishing a nearly-nude photo of herself on the website. The Hole frontwoman logged on to social networking site Twitter last week and shocked thousands of followers by posting a link to a topless picture of herself writhing in a chair.

The embarrassed star reached out to her fans on Tuesday, October 5, admitting the steamy image was meant to be private - and the incident has prompted her to close down her profile. Posting her final tweet from @CourtneyLoveUK, she wrote, "I'm off twitter, that photo was meant for a boy friend."

Actor Brando Eaton is suing a medical prop company used by producers on axed U.S. hospital drama "Miami Medical" after a stunt with a cardiac defibrillator went wrong and he was shocked with powerful electrical charges. The 24 year old, who also starred on crime series "Dexter", appeared on the medical show as a character whose heart needed to be jolted back to life with the use of the cardiac device.

But the prop turned out to be a real defibrillator and Eaton had to seek doctors' attention following the onset mishap, reports TMZ.com. He has filed suit in Los Angeles County Superior Court against the bosses of the prop firm, claiming he needed "treatment and counseling for the anxiety, flashbacks and apprehension from this incident" and could have been killed.

Mel Gibson's ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva reneged on a $15 million deal to put an end to their bitter custody battle because she refused to give the actor joint custody of their baby when she believed he was "unstable". The couple split in April but the break-up turned nasty when the Russian singer accused Gibson of beating her and knocking out two of her teeth during a violent argument in January.

Wrestler Steve Austin was sent into a panic when he discovered he had fractured Sylvester Stallone's neck during a stunt sequence for "The Expendables" - he feared he had crippled the Hollywood star. Stallone suffered serious injuries in a fight scene with Austin for the action movie and he underwent corrective surgery to repair the damage, which left him with a metal plate in his neck.

Austin admits he had no idea about the extent of Stallone's injuries until months after the accident and he was left shaken by reports which suggested he had broken the star's neck. Filming on the new "X-Men" movie was halted after James McAvoy was involved in a freak accident on set, according to a U.K. report. The Scottish actor is currently shooting "X-Men: First Class" at the legendary Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire, England.

But filming had to be abandoned temporarily after a buggy which was transporting McAvoy between sets on the vast complex crashed, reports Britain's The Sun. The star was left shaken after the incident, but he was not seriously injured and the shoot resumed later the same day.

AMC releases the second trailer to its zombie series "The Walking Dead" which will premiere right on Halloween this year at 10/9c. Led by police officer Rick Grimes, the group travels in search of a safe and secure home. The comic goes on to explore the challenges of life in a world overrun by zombies who take a toll on the survivors, and sometimes the interpersonal conflicts present a greater danger to their continuing survival than the zombies that roam the country. Over time, the characters are changed by the constant exposure to death and some grow willing to do anything to survive.
