Florence and the Machine's Florence Welch Has Tearful Glastonbury Triumph

Florence and the Machine singer Florence Welch choked backed tears as she thanked fans for their support during an emotion-charged set at the U.K.'s Glastonbury Festival on Friday, June 25. The British band first performed at the event in a tiny tent in 2007, and have returned each year since, playing higher on the bill each time.

And during their biggest show to date, on the 2010 festival's opening day, frontwoman Welch was overcome by emotion several times during the band's set. She even stopped the group during a rousing rendition of their hit "Dog Days Are Over", visibly fighting back tears as she told the crowd, "This is a pretty big moment for me. To start in a tent and then be here... it means a lot to be on this stage in front of you. I never want to leave."

Michael Jackson's Father Misses Out on Chance to File Wrongful Death Lawsuit

Michael Jackson's father has missed out on the chance of filing a wrongful death lawsuit against his son's physician on the anniversary of the King of Pop's death because of a mistake in the paperwork. Joe Jackson's lawyer Brian Oxman filed documents against Dr. Conrad Murray in federal court on Friday, June 25, seeking unspecified damages in connection with his son's death. But the suit was returned because or an error. It will now have to be refiled, according to TMZ.

In the complaint, Joe Jackson alleges Murray withheld vital information from the doctors and emergency service operatives who were trying to save Michael's life. Murray is accused of administering a fatal dose of anesthetic Propofol to the pop star a year ago, June 25 2009. He has pleaded not guilty to a charge of involuntary manslaughter.

After snapped filming "Monte Carlo" in France for few days, Leighton Meester has continued the production in another country. On Friday, June 25, she has been pictured shooting the film in Monaco, Italy with a male co-star, Luke Bracey.

The 24-year-old actress is seen sporting a purple one-piece topped with a peach-colored robe. The Aussie hunk, meanwhile, shows off his abs as he is shirtless. In several shots, the two are captured standing face to face while filming their scenes. Selena Gomez and Katie Cassidy who joined Meester in Paris are not seen during the June 25 filming.

Radiohead stars Jonny Greenwood and Thom Yorke served up the first big surprise at this year's Glastonbury festival when they hit the stage for an unannounced set. The bandmates were introduced by festival organizer Michael Eavis, who built up the moment by calling it "the biggest surprise of the weekend."

A grinning Yorke then stepped forward and announced, "Hi, my name is Thomas Yorke," before playing his "The Eraser" hit solo on the piano. He went on to perform "Harrowdown Hill" and "Black Swan" before Greenwood joined him onstage for a rendition of "Cymbal Rush", "Wishes Fishes/Arpeggi" and "Pyramid Song".

The tot will be a little sister for the couple's three-and-a-half-year-old daughter, Romy. Coppola and Mars, the frontman for the band Phoenix, announced the pregnancy in December 2009. The couple began dating in 2005.

Explaining about the character in the film, director Scott Stewart says, "In our world, priests are like Jedi Knights with special powers and training." He then compares the vampires in his movie with the bloodsuckers in "Twilight" film series and hit TV show "True Blood", claiming "Our vampires are more feral and disturbing than, say, the teen-angst vampires of 'Twilight' or the sexy vampires of 'True Blood'. Rock legends Lynyrd Skynyrd have lost another family member - former singer Deborah Jo White has lost her battle with cancer. The 58 year old, who performed as "Jo Jo Billingsley", passed away on Thursday, June 24 at her home in Alabama.

She toured with the band as one of backing singers The Honkettes for three years in the mid-1970s before leaving the "Sweet Home Alabama" hitmakers. Lead singer Ronnie Van Zant and several others were killed in a plane crash months after she quit the band in 1977.

The Kinks' Pete Quaife Died at 66

Former The Kinks bassist Pete Quaife has died, aged 66. The musician, who founded the group with school pals Ray and Dave Davies and drummer Mick Avory in 1962, passed away on Thursday, June 24.

His cause of death is not yet known, although Quaife had been undergoing kidney dialysis since 1998 after suffering renal failure. The bassist featured on The Kinks' early records, including the 1964 hit "You Really Got Me", before briefly quitting in 1966 after a car accident left him unable to perform. He rejoined the band but was permanently replaced by John Dalton in 1969.

The actress, who is the artistic director of the company, has thrown her support behind the Greening the Wharf initiative, which will see 1,900 solar panels installed in The Wharf Theatre at Sydney's Walsh Bay.

The panels will provide 70 per cent of the theatre's electricity requirements - and the "Elizabeth: The Golden Age" star wants more companies to follow their example by investing in green energy alternatives.

'SVU' to Take Over 'Law and Order' Set

TV bosses are reportedly moving the set of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" to New York to save money on filming. The legal drama is currently shot in North Bergen, New Jersey, but state authorities are set to suspend 20 per cent tax credits for film and TV productions.

And executives are hoping to take the spin-off show to the NBC studios in the Big Apple, where the "Law & Order" original is filmed. It was announced in May the long-running series has been canceled.

Mariah Carey's lawyer has dismissed allegations the superstar owes almost $30,000 in medical fees to a veterinarian who treated her dogs, branding the doctor's lawsuit "a crass publicity stunt".

Veterinarian Cindy Bressler filed a lawsuit in a New York court on Wednesday, June 23, accusing the "Hero" hitmaker of paying just $8,231 of a $37,790 bill for providing "extraordinary services" for her pet pooches. According to court filings obtained by New York Post, Carey's Jack Russell puppy, Dolomite, needed intensive care after being born to another one of the singer's dogs, Cha-Cha - who was only six months old when she gave birth.

The rumor has been made official. Michael Fassbender is on board to star as Erik Lensherr aka Magneto in "X-Men: First Class". The actor, who had been reported being offered the lead role in the film, entered talks with 20th Century Fox two weeks ago and now the deal is done, The Hollywood Reporter states.

Fassbender will star opposite James McAvoy who has previously signed to play Charles Xavier aka Professor X. The studio is currently looking for actors to play other mutant characters as they are prepping to start shooting this August in London, England. Earlier this week casting director Mindy Marin left the project but she has been replaced by Joseph Middleton.

The movie is based on Ben Mezrich's novel "The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook, a Tale of Sex, Money, Genius and Betrayal".
