Hollywood Beauties Honored at Elle Magazine's 14th Annual Women in Hollywood

Six Hollywood actresses and a filmmaker received special attention on Monday night (Oct 15) as Elle Magazine paid them tribute at its 14th Annual Women in Hollywood held at Beverly Hills' Four Seasons Hotel.

All profiled in the November issue of the magazine, they were Scarlett Johansson, Kate Bosworth, Jennifer Connelly, Amy Adams, Lauren Bacall, Diane Lane, and director Julie Taymor, whose latest work "Across the Universe" was smoothly released in theaters on September 21, 2007. The lineup thereby became a mix of young Hollywood and experienced veterans with 22-year-old Johansson being the youngest.

Cat Power Unveils Second Cover Album Tracklisting

Previously keeping the tracks a secret, Cat Power finally unveils the songs that she has covered for her second cover album. Twelve tracks will be included in the album that is titled 'Jukebox'.

The previously reported new song 'Song for Bobby' and her refreshed original song 'Metal Heart' will be topped by songs from James Brown, Billie Holiday and her favorite artist Bob Dylan.

Kid Rock Says Goodbye to Long Time Manager

Kid Rock sold over 170,000 copies of his new album 'Rock & Roll Jesus' this week, and with that comes the change. The singer has split from his manager of seven years, Ed "Punch" Andrew, to give him a retirement.

Andrews has reportedly planned the retirement as soon as 'Rock & Roll Jesus' is put on the shelves. Sources said that Rock has replaced him with Vector Management that also manages of Bon Jovi and Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Clay Aiken Lands Broadway Role in Monty Python's Spamalot

Set to display his acting knack on stage, Idol alum Clay Aiken has been selected to be the latest cast member of Broadway comedy musical "Monty Python's Spamalot." Confirmation of his involvement was announced yesterday, October 16, 2007 by director Mike Nichols and author Eric Idle.

"Clay Aiken is amazing beyond that glorious voice," Nichols commented. "Turns out, he is an excellent comic actor and a master of character."

Nicolas Cage Set to Topline Thriller Pic Vanished

A massive pile of future acting stints apparently does not stop Nicolas Cage to take another into his resume. Already attached to a number of movies for the next three years, the actor has just been reported to sign for a lead role in "Vanished" that Focus Features is now baking.

Written by Larysa Kondracki and Eilis Kirwan, the thriller centers on a father who is in search for his college-aged American-born Muslim son, who gets missing overseas. Pic also marks the studio directing debut of Palestinian-born filmmaker Hany Abu-Assad, known for his work in Oscar-nominated flick "Paradise Now."

Shelved Stopping Power Could Be Back on the Track

Earlier this month we already learned that production on Jan de Bont's "Stopping Power" was shut down by its production company Internationalmedia, but looks like there's a chance to see it get launched once more.

Voluntary Britney Spears Booked for Two Charges

On Monday night, Britney Spears turned herself in to a police station in Los Angeles. The troubled singer is now booked on two misdemeanor charges for hit-and-run accident that occurred in Van Nuys, California back in August and driving without valid license.

Britney who wore black mini skirt and leather jacket was seen entering the building at approximately 09:25 P.M. She spent around 30 minutes inside where she was fingerprinted and photographed before released without bail.

George Lucas Turning Star Wars into Live-Action TV series

The Skywalkers saga may have reached its completion on the big screen, but fear not fans, there will be more tales from the far, far away galaxy to be told of.

"Star Wars" maker George Lucas revealed to The Los Angeles Times yesterday, October 16, 2007 that he is planning a live-action spin-off of the phenomenal epic space film series for the small screen. The famed filmmaker admitted he has "just begun work" on the TV series, which will focus on the minor characters of the franchise.

'Nervous' Ricky Martin Received His Hollywood Star

The next celebrity in line to earn his star is Ricky Martin. Hollywood released its 2,351th star on Tuesday, October 16 for the Latin singer who was hailed by mass of cheering fans.

"This is an incredible moment. Everything I do, I do with love and passion," Martin told the crowd. His star is placed near Kodak Theater, on the corner of Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue.

Queensryche's Cover of Pink Floyd's 'Machine' Released on iTunes

With their new album coming out around the corner, Queensryche released their first single 'Welcome to the Machine' on iTunes yesterday (October 16). The song may be familiar to the ears for it's the hardcore metal band's cover of Pink Floyd's 1975 single of the same title.

'Welcome to the Machine' is just one of the 11 cover tracks that appears on 'Take Cover', the band's tribute to their favorite musicians. "We'll never top the originals, they're classics for a reason," vocalist Geoff Tate said. "We were more focused on finding different approaches that took the songs in unexpected directions."

P. Diddy to Face Third Deree Assault for Punching a Man

P. Diddy punched a man on the face on Saturday, October 13 and according to the latest report, he is now charged with assault. Police who have investigated the case reportedly dismissing Diddy with 'third degree assault', but will not put him in jail.

Police said the incident occurred at about 3:30 a.m. inside Kiosk nightclub. They hope to shed some more light on the case through the video cameras available at the nightclub. According to Associated Press, police are still accumulating witnesses before questioning Diddy.

Barenaked Ladies' Live DVD Coming Exclusively in November

As previously reported, Barenaked Ladies will release a live DVD titled 'Talk to the Hand: Live in Michigan' via Shout! Factory. The record will now arrive on November 6 and comes with a CD/DVD combo package version.

Recorded in June this year, the concert highlights some of the band's biggest hits, including 'One Week', 'If I had $1,000,000' as well as 'Powder'. The package will also contain extras such as a backstage interview with the band, an animated photo gallery, and a bonus song 'Angry People' from the soundcheck.

The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus have premiered a new video for their slow piece 'Your Guardian Angel'. The song, that is taken from their well-selling debut album 'Don't You Fake It ', had its music video premiered worldwide on MTV2.com on Monday, October 15.

The punk band that claimed their fame through single 'Face Down' tell a more subtle story in this song. As written in the lyrics, it says, "I will never let you fall, I'll stand up with you forever, I'll be there for you through it all, even if saving you sends me to heaven"

Colin Farrell has come forward and spoke publicly about his son's special need for the first time. Four-year-old James may be born with Angelma Syndrome, but his dad could not have asked for more.

Colin addressed his son's disability saying, "With my son the only time I'm reminded that there is something different about him - that he has some deviation of what is perceived to be normal - is when I see him with other four-year-olds. Then I go, 'Oh yeah', and it comes back to me. But from day one I felt that he's the way he's meant to be."

Different-Looking Angelina Jolie on The Changeling L.A. Set

Camera has been rolling on Clint Eastwood-directed "The Changeling" and some early snapshots have delightfully been taken from the project's set in Los Angeles on Monday, October 15, 2007, focusing solely on none other than the female lead, Angelina Jolie.

Appeared to be in fine form, the actress looked very different yet still stunningly beautiful as she sported a brown fur dress with cloche hat and short wig. There's no doubt she has undergone extensive wardrobe and makeup routines to get into her character in the flick, a mother who suspects that the son returned to her after being kidnapped is not her true child.
