The Grammy-winning recording artist, famous for her hit single "Case of the Ex" (2000), is set to take over the role of merry murderess Velma Kelly in the hit Broadway musical "Chicago". She's said to have signed on for a nine-week limited engagement at the Ambassador Theatre, beginning from May 12 to July 13.
Mya to Part Ways With Motown and Go Independent

When asked about the new album Mya answered, "I don't like to talk about my album until it's out on the shelves. I'm not giving up too much information, but all I'll say is I'll have a series of albums coming out. The album is already recorded."
Mya Gains 'Liberation' Only in December

'Liberation' that is slated to be dropped today (October 23) is put in the drawer again for a December 11 release. The album has actually been aimed for sale in 2005 with the start of production dating back in 2004. With the new schedule, she will go head to head with Ashanti's equally much-delayed album, 'The Declaration' and Bow Wow - Omarion joint project 'Face Off'.

Mya has just found a new date for the release of her album 'Liberation'. The much-delayed album will now arrive October 23, three years after she started working on the piece in 2004.
With the new date, 'Liberation' will go head to head with 'Ghetto Rose', an album by R&B singer Keke Wyatt.

New music video from R&B singer Mya has been premiered on Yahoo! Music yesterday (September 7). While her album 'Liberation' still holds no status on when to be released, second single 'Ridin'' is set to take the sail first.
Digitally and physically, the song was released on July 10 via Motown. The album on the other hand, can't keep to find a fixed date after being pushed twice from its original date in 2005. Mya moved from A&M Records to Motown during the process, halting the production for a while.

In anticipation of her new album's release, Mya has conducted a video contest for her fans. Entitled "Do you think you have what it takes to go on a date with Mya?", it gives fans a chance to meet her in person and spend a quality time with her.
The basic rule is quite simple. Submit a 30 seconds video clip stating your name, age, height and the reason why you should be Mya's date. Once you're satisfied with the footage, upload it to 'Ridin With Mya Youtube Group'. Only those 18 years and above contestants are allowed to participate.

Spawning "Moodring" via Interscope in 2003, Mya switched gears to Motown with "Liberation" in 2007. The album that its release has been obstructed many times will finally be out on June 26.
"Litigations, court, transitioning from label to label, teaching kids and building a studio, that takes a while," Mya said in a statement. "That's why this album is a lot more aggressive, very honest, in your face and cut and dry."

With the release of "Veteran" on March 20, Marques Houston is entering a new phase of his life. Displaying a more mature and personal side, he leaves behind the sexual and explicit records that he had made in the past two albums.
"This one is about relationships, love songs, break-ups - the mushy stuff. I'm 25 now. I'm just at a different place in my life, so I tried to put out music from my soul, something my fans would enjoy," the singer said in a statement to Billboard.com. In the track titled "Circle" for example he said that it tells on the relationship that he is going through. "You have a relationship where you're like, 'I wonder what's going to happen in the end.' You always wonder if it's going to come back. That's why the hook says, 'If you love something, let it go, and if it comes back, that's how you know.'"
Hilary Duff Alleged Stalker Pleaded Not Guilty

Maksim Miakovsky, the 18-year-old Russian immigrant accused of threatening to kill singer-turned-actress Hilary Duff, was pleaded not guilty to stalking charges Tuesday Nov 7th.
Was charged with the felony following an arrest on Friday Nov 3rd, Miakovsky appeared in court, and his bail was raised to $1 million. He, however, denied planning to harm Duff at an event she was scheduled to attend.
