Maggie Gyllenhaal Being Replaced by 'World Trade Center' Co-Star
March 28, 2008 03:03:18The star of black comedy "Secretary", Maggie Gyllenhaal, will be possibly replaced by Maria Bello, her co-star in the Paramount Pictures' drama "World Trade Center", in the dramedy project "The Private Lives of Pippa Lee". According to Hollywood Reporter, Bello is in final talks to fill in the vacant role left by the sister of actor Jake Gyllenhaal.
If the negotiation went well, Bello will take over the role of the mother of Robin Wright Penn's mother in a series of flashback sequences. Allegedly, the actress is considered for the role since her feature strikes a resemblance to the co-star of Christian Bale in "The Dark Knight". Bello has been involved in the replacing negotiation since Gyllenhaal had to drop out from the project due to conflicting schedules.
'The Mummy' to Have Two More New Sequels?
March 12, 2008 02:03:22While talking about her character in the latest "The Mummy" sequel "The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor", actress Maria Bello let out that there will be two more Mummy sequels. According to MTV News, the Golden Globe-nominated actress for her role in "A History of Violence" revealed that she has been signed for the movie franchise new trilogy.
The actress, who replaces Rachel Weisz, the original depicter of Evelyn Carnahan-O'Connell, stated that though she didn't have the information when the next two sequels are set to be developed, she know for sure that there will be another Mummy film. "I don't know when, but it's going," she commented. "[There will] absolutely be 'The Mummy 4.'" Further, the 40-year-old actress suggested that the next location may take place in the Amazon.

Lining up to make a great cast, five stars namely Maria Bello, Josh Lucas, Emily Blunt, Ellen Burstyn, and Jimmy Smits have given their agreement to take part in "The Jane Austen Book Club", a big screen adaptation of Joy Fowlers' bestselling novel of the same title.
Set to direct by Robin Swicord, the project will likely to closely follow the book's story which focuses on six California residents who join a club discussing Jane Austen's novels. During the meetings, marriages are tested and affairs begin while unsuitable arrangements become suitable and love flourishes. Production is expected to begin by early November in Los Angeles.

Constructing a good cast ensemble, Allan Ball has finally put the names of Aaron Eckhart, Toni Collette, and Maria Bello in the list for his untitled drama feature which will be his directorial big screen debut, Variety has reported. Apart from the three stars, newcomer Summer Bishil has also been included in the list along with TV actor Peter Macdissi.
Set to begin filming process by mid September in Los Angeles, pic will be produced by Ball alongside Ted Hope and Steven M. Rales with Scott Rudin, Peggy Rajski, and Anne Carey to executive produce. The story focuses on the life of a girl named Jasira as she struggles with identity and sexual issues for being the daughter of a Lebanese-American father and an American mother during the Gulf War.
