Leif Garrett Sentenced to 90 Days in Jail

Leif Garrett was sent to jail. Again. The former 1970s teen idol was sentenced to 90 days in jail and three years' probation following his arrest in two cases involving the possession of heroin and cocaine.
Such decision, presumably, is just perfect for the actor-singer considering his dropping out of a drug rehabilitation program he entered following his arrest for heroine possession in Los Angeles in January.

Former teen idol Leif Garrett has been sent to jail for 45 days after failing a series of drug tests while in rehab. As for your notice, the 44-year-old man was scheduled to appear in court Thursday for a progress report hearing, but court records indicated he "tested dirty" last week.
As a consequence, Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Melissa Widdifield sent him to 45-day sentence, beginning on March 30. Garrett's next progress report is scheduled for May 11.

Previously arrested for heroin possession in Los Angeles last January to then spend his time to undergo drugs treatment at the Impact House for 42 days, Leif Garrett now has to extend his stay there for another 30 days based on the result of his hearing progress held on Thursday, March 9. This proceeding of his case of violating the probation on his 2004 cocaine charge consequently crushes the '70s-era teen idol's desire to obtain an outpatient status he had asked before through his attorney, Andrew Flier, in order to spend more time with his mother, Carolyn Stellar. Garrett, who had been popular for song "I Was Made for Dancing", had been under rehab for two times that were in 1997 and 1999.
