'Iron Man 2': The War Machine Team-Up Addressed
November 04, 2009 12:11:28More details on the War Machine of "Iron Man 2" have been spilled. Dropping by MTV recently, Sam Rockwell who will be seen as Justin Hammer in the "Iron Man" sequel gave an interesting scoop on the relationship between his Tony Stark's rival character and Don Cheadle's Colonel James "Rhodey" Rhodes.
Of the two characters' alliance, the 40-year-old actor said, "Don and I, we're working together. He works with me in spite of some of my personality flaws." Calling Hammer "a bit of a shark" in explaining the "personality flaws" remark, he then detailed that "Don's character, Rhodey, needs to work with me. He has no choice. So we team up and we build this fabulous War Machine."
Mickey Rourke Under Spotlight on New 'Iron Man 2' Set Visit
September 30, 2009 09:09:17Entertainment Tonight (ET) has just brought forth another set visit video for "Iron Man 2". Focusing mainly on Mickey Rourke and his villainous character, Whiplash, the two minutes plus footage from the set of the highly anticipated "Iron Man" sequel features commentary from director Jon Favreau and fellow cast members, Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow and Don Cheadle.
"Once we thought of him, we started developing the costume and the design of the character around him," Favreau told ET's Thea Andrews on the casting of Rourke. "His career got very busy as he was doing all the award season stuff and it took some time to make everything work out, but he was enthusiastic from our first meeting. And, I was so glad that it worked out. Now he's a very formidable adversary to Robert Downey Jr."
War Machine's Part in 'Iron Man 2' From the Eyes of Don Cheadle

In an interview with MTV News, the man who portrays Colonel James 'Rhodey' Rhodes talked about the conflicts that rise between his character and Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark due to the War Machine suit.
"What's interesting is that there are so many different iterations of War Machine and Tony Stark from all the different comics," the 44-year-old first pointed out. "It was really trying to find the common thread, the through-line... [And] the through-line really is their friendship. They're actually really good friends."
More 'Iron Man 2' Photos Coming Out
July 22, 2009 04:07:31In anticipation of "Iron Man 2" presentation at San Diego Comic Con 2009, USA Today has brought forth a series of new photos for the superhero sequel. Three in total, the new pictures center on Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark, Gwyneth Paltrow's Pepper Potts, Don Cheadle's Colonel James 'Rhodey' Rhodes and director Jon Favreau.
One of the images shows what is said to be the after-effect of Whiplash's attack when Tony Stark participates in a race as a pissed off Stark is seen squatting amidst wreckage on the race track. Another one displays Potts, who has been promoted to CEO of Stark Industries, lounging on her chair. The last one captures Favreau having a discussion with Downey Jr. and Cheadle on the film's set.

July 18, 2009 09:07:28Entertainment Weekly's Comic-Con preview issue apparently did not only tease on how Scarlett Johansson portrays femme fatale Black Widow in "Iron Man 2", but also the look of several other main characters. Slash Film has got its hands on the mag's scanned photos that expose Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts, Don Cheadle as Rhodey Rhodes and Sam Rockwell as Justin Hammer.
One of the images captures Paltrow's Potts talking to Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark in what appears to be a court room. Another one sees Cheadle, who replaced Terrence Howard as Colonel James "Rhodey" Rhodes, at some kind of court hearing with Rockwell's fast-talking weapons manufacturer character in the background. The last one exhibits director Jon Favreau and Downey Jr. watching playback from a boxing ring.

Talking to a group of reporters Saturday, April 4, in Beverly Hills during "Fighting" promotion, he discussed about Marvel's decision.
"Iron Man happened with that. Marvel happened with it," he responded when asked what happened behind the recasting, as quoted by Sci Fi Wire. "They made a choice. They made a very, very bad choice. They didn't keep their word. They didn't honor our contract. They sent everyone out into a field and told them to work and produce a great bounty. You produce a great bounty, and then when it's all in the storehouse, you are not allowed into the storehouse."
'Iron Man 2' to Start Filming April

"I love Terrence very very much. That's all I'll say because I haven't talked to him yet," Downey Jr. further added. Making sure that he doesn't play favorites between the two actors, the "Charlie Bartlett" actor also praised Cheadle saying, "I've always admired Don [Cheadle]."

Giving an updated report on the casting news, The Hollywood Reporter claimed that the 39-year-old's part as Lt. Col James 'Rhodey' Rhodes, Tony Stark's best friend and future War Machine, will be taken over by his fellow "Crash" actor Don Cheadle.
Speculating further on Howard's exit from the sequel, the publication noted that the conflict between Howard and Marvel Studios may be grounded from the financial differences, especially with the previous financial problem with director Jon Favreau. It should be noted though that Marvel have yet to release any statement on this possible replacement of Howard with the "Hotel Rwanda" star.

He and fellow actor Don Cheadle are about to be presented with the 2007 Peace Summit Award by the 8th World Summit of Nobel Peace Prize Laureates at its annual meeting held in Rome on December 13th. Former Russian president and Nobel laureate Mikhail Gorbachev, whose foundation cohosts the annual event, will present the award along with Walter Veltroni, the mayor of Rome.

Planting his nails deeper into show business, Don Cheadle has come up with five big screen projects that he is about to produce and star in. All of them will be set up at Crescendo Productions, the company in which he partners with longtime managers Kay Liberman and Lenore Zerman.
Among the five, there will be a biopic of famed musician Miles Davis which Cheadle is eyeing as his feature directorial debut. Liberman and Zerman both claimed they have secured music and life rights to the jazz legend with writing duo Stephen J. Rivele and Chris Wilkinson working on the script.

All things have been settled for now to bring the life of jazz legend Miles Davis onscreen. TMZ has delightfully reported that Don Cheadle is finally on board the project not only as the star but also as the director with Cary Brokaw financing it independently.

Both Don Cheadle and Chiwetel Ejiofor have signed on to star in "Talk to Me". It's a drama based on the true story of a controversial black DJ at a white-owned radio station.

The success of the movie version of "Crash" has prompted a great idea to bring the racial drama into small screen. And as the idea has been put to realization, the project will soon appear on televisions across the U.S. next year.
The film's producer Cathy Schulman remarked "I hope it will air in the next year". Cheadle & Sandler to Join Reign O'er Me Cast

As a concrete remembrance to the accident that changes many people's life, writer-director Mike Binder is developing "Reign O'er Me," a drama that follows the story of a man who lost his family on Sept. 11 and has never recovered from his grief.
The main role then runs into his former college roommate who has become a doctor and who is determined to help his ex-roomie come to grips with his loss. Don Cheadle and Adam Sandler are the two actors already in talks to star in. In the meantime, Sony Pictures Entertainment is trying to acquire the Binder-scripted film and would make it next year with a budget under $20 million.
