AceShowbiz - The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has announced the nominees for its Class of 2026, featuring a lineup packed with some of the most influential names in music. The list includes Mariah Carey, Lauryn Hill, Luther Vandross, and Shakira, among others.
The nominees are The Black Crowes, Jeff Buckley, Mariah Carey, Phil Collins, Melissa Etheridge, Lauryn Hill, Billy Idol, INXS, Iron Maiden, Joy Division/New Order, New Edition, Oasis, P!NK, Sade, Shakira, Luther Vandross, and Wu-Tang Clan.
Some nominees, like Mariah Carey, have been recognized previously, with this marking her third consecutive year as a nominee. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s voting panel, consisting of over 1,200 members, evaluates nominees based on several criteria. These include an artist’s influence on peers, the breadth and longevity of their career and work, as well as their innovation and mastery of style and technique.
The official inductees will be revealed in April, with the induction ceremony scheduled to take place in Los Angeles this fall. This event remains one of the most prestigious honors in the music industry, celebrating artists who have made significant contributions to rock and roll and popular music.
Previous Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees include legendary figures such as Michael Jackson, Madonna, Jay-Z, Prince, and Whitney Houston, underscoring the high caliber of this year’s nominees.
