Grammy-winning singer-songwriter SZA has her eyes set on the silver screen, and she's already got a dream role in mind - Storm from Marvel's X-Men comic books.

AceShowbiz - SZA recently revealed her aspirations to venture into superhero territory. During an appearance on "The Jennifer Hudson Show", the singer-turned-actress said she would love to portray Storm, the iconic weather-controlling mutant from Marvel Comics.
"I would love to be a superhero," she enthused. "You know how Storm has an origin story? Like she comes from this whole other place where it's like the jungle. I think that would be so gnarly if I could be Storm [in an] origin story."
SZA shared that she grew up immersed in the world of Marvel and DC comics. "My dad, he collects first-edition comics, so he has first-edition Thor comics and Silver Surfer [comics] in the basement," she disclosed.
Storm, a character created by Len Wen and Dave Cockrum, made her first appearance in Giant-Size X-Men in 1975. With the ability to control weather and atmosphere, Storm's story begins in Kenya, where she was born to a tribal princess.
The character was famously brought to life on screen by Halle Berry in the 2000 live-action film "X-Men", and later by Alexandra Shipp in 2016's "X-Men: Apocalypse".
While it's her dream to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), SZA has already stepped into the world of DC Comics. She starred in a State Farm commercial aired during the Super Bowl, where she played Catwoman opposite Jason Bateman's Batman.
She also contributed to the MCU with the original track "All the Stars," a collaboration with Kendrick Lamar for the "Black Panther" soundtrack.
Launching her career as a musician, SZA made her film debut opposite Keke Palmer in the female-centric buddy comedy "One of Them Days", which success bolstered her confidence and determination to explore more roles in the future.
"It was wild, but I learned so much," she reflected on her first significant acting experience. "I definitely need to build my confidence as an actor. But the way that I got to look at myself from another lens that had nothing really to do with my personal expression - but still had everything to do with my personal expression - that was cool."
With her deep-rooted love for comic book lore and burgeoning acting career, SZA could very well be the next big superhero to grace the silver screen. Marvel boss Kevin Feige, take note!
