Inspired by Jason Parks' real-life story, the film centers on a young man's harrowing journey for justice after being drugged and abducted from a gay club in conservative Oklahoma. Despite losing the Best Midnight Short trophy to Nina Gantz's "Wander to Wonder," Bella's directorial effort was well-received.

Bella also has plans to helm a feature-length version of "Unsettled" titled "Colour Your Hurt," as well as directing a feature film called "Ash Beneath the Current."
