AceShowbiz - Mary J. Blige has ruled out a "Verzuz" battle.
The singer, songwriter and actress has no plans to take part in the webcast series, which sees two entertainers going head-to-head with their discographies, as she doesn't think it would be beneficial for her career.
Speaking on "The Breakfast Club" on Power FM, she said, "I don't know what a Verzuz would do for me. Right now it's not something that's on the top of my list."
Mary's comments come after recent speculation that she and Toni Braxton would go head-to-head in a "Verzuz" battle.
A message on the official Verzuz Twitter page stated, "Us having to tell people that the Mary J. Blige vs Toni Braxton VERZUZ isn't real."
Ahead of their battle, the two male stars got engaged in an online banter.
"Bow wow couldn't make a hit in 2021 if his life depended on it," Soulja dissed his rival in a series of tweets. "Bow wow could never make a song like she make it clap and get played on the radio in 2021. I haven't heard a bow wow song on the radio since I was still living in the hood without a record deal."
Bow Wow responded, "Soulja just stop, like literally stop.... The diff w/ me and you is.. YOU HAVE TO PUT OUT MUSIC. I don't. Ill be in the box office this weekend while you sit at home in your living room yelling on live at no one."
Previous "Verzuz" battles featured the likes of Eve and Trina, 2 Chainz and Rick Ross, Snoop Dogg and the late DMX, Brandy and Monica, Redman and Method Man, Alicia Keys and John Legend, and Jill Scott and Erykah Badu.
