"Greatest Hits" wrapped up with a tribute to Whitney Houston performed by Ariana Grande. In the live finale that aired on Thursday, August 4, the 23-year-old singer covered the late diva's "How Will I Know" before segueing into "Queen of the Night", flawlessly hitting the high notes.

Donning a black dress teamed with silver thigh high boots and rocking her signature ponytail, the petite singer couldn't hide her excitement to cover Houston's classics. "honored to be paying homage to my angel tonight," she wrote in a caption of one behind-the-scenes picture.

The two-hour finale of the ABC summer music series also featured Adam Lambert who covered George Michael's 'Faith", Celine Dion who performed her 1997 hit "My Heart Will Go On", John Legend who sang Lauryn Hill's "Doo Wop (That Thing)", Nelly who delivered a rendition of his classic hits "Ride wit Me" and "Hot in Herre" as well as Sheryl Crow and Kelsea Ballerini who teamed up for a duet of "All I Wanna Do".
