Following the last episode of "Late Show with David Letterman", James Corden opened his "Late Late Show" on Wednesday night, May 20 with a musical tribute to the retired host. He and Sting teamed up for a rendition of "Every Breath You Take", sitting on stools across the Ed Sullivan Theater where the "Late Show" used to be filmed.

The British musician started it off solo before Corden threw some freestyle rapping into the mix. "I just thought I'd add some lyrics to make it a bit more ghetto," the comedian explained as Sting made it known that he didn't like it. The former lead singer of The Police told Corden, "Do something, but make sure no one hears it."

Later on the show, Corden delivered the "Top 10 Things We Will Miss About David Letterman". He said he would miss Letterman's habit of asking a band's drummer, "Are those your drums?" and his "disarming laugh" among other things. And most of all, he would miss Letterman himself.

The "Into the Woods" actor commended the veteran comedian for achieving the "near-impossible task" of being a "respected broadcaster" but also a "groundbreaking" comedian. He added, "It's been an honor following you, and we will miss you."

Earlier that night, Letterman bid farewell to viewers with the help of Alec Baldwin, Barbara Walters, Steve Martin, Jerry Seinfeld, Jim Carrey, Chris Rock, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Peyton Manning, Tina Fey and Bill Murray who delivered his final Top 10 list on the "Late Show".
