Nick Jonas says Jonas Brothers can't attend MTV Video Music Awards due to scheduling conflict, not because of Russell Brand's recruitment as the event's host.

AceShowbiz - It seems that many Jonas Brothers' fans will be disappointed this year as the band are unable to attend the 26th Annual MTV Video Music Awards. Speaking to BBC, Nick Jonas explains why they won't be seen at Radio City Music Hall where the event is held, stating it happens because of their hectic schedule.

Nick further says that it is not true that they can't attend the annual awards due to the recruitment of Russell Brand, who made fun at his and his brothers' purity rings last year, as the show's host once again. In fact, the youngest member of the band doesn't mind if the British comedian/actor pokes fun at him, Joe Jonas and Kevin Jonas again at the September 13 event.

"It's great for him. He has form and ultimately he does a great job," Nick shares. "As far as his comments were concerned, what we said from the beginning was that he seemed to run out of material - but if we're the butt of his jokes, it's kind of a compliment in a bizarre way. We hope he has a good time this year."

Jonas Brothers indeed have a bunch of things to be completed. They are currently hitting the road with the likes of Jordin Sparks, Jessie James and Honor Society for a world tour. They are also scheduled to film a sequel to their popular TV movie "Camp Rock", "Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam", in Canada later this year.

2009 MTV VMAs, meanwhile, will see live performances from Taylor Swift, Muse, Green Day, Pink, Jay-Z and Lady GaGa. And, its presenters line-up include Nelly Furtado, Leighton Meester, Miranda Cosgrove, Katy Perry, Ne-Yo and Chace Crawford.
