Don Omar upped the ante with his latest music. In April, the singer released "Soy Yo" ft. Puerto Rican veteran Wisin and Cuban duo Gente de Zona, and the track jumped to No. spot on Billboard's Tropical Airplay chart dated July 16.

A week prior, the song reached the summit of the Tropical Airplay for the first time to rule in its 12th week. Meanwhile, on the Hot Latin Songs chart, the song debuted at No. 38, which marked the highest rank on the list.

"Soy Yo" arrived with its official music video, which narrates a passion-fueled love affair between Omar and his female co-star who is about to get married to someone else. "Llamalo y dile que ahora… El que te gusta Soy Yo!" the 44-year-old sings ing the chorus.

Omar loves working with Wisin and Gente de Zona. In a statement, he said, "I am enjoying this stage where I am collaborating with colleagues with whom I had not worked before... I feel like it was a meeting of a group of friends who worked and had a lot of fun doing what we are passionate about: music."

The feeling is mutual. Wisin divulged that he didn't hesitate to accept the collaboration offer, saying, "[I] didn't hesitate when William called me to be part of this song, he is my brother, and he knows it." Gente de Zona, in the meantime, shared that they had always wanted to work with Omar and that "a great friendship has arisen from this song."
