Kygo

Norwegian DJ/record producer Kygo is undoubtedly one of the brightest EDM artists. Before his massive success, Kygo, whose real name is Kyrre Gorvell-Dahll, was a college student from Bergen, Norway. He began producing his own music when he was 15 or 16 by using Logic Studio and a MIDI keyboard after listening to Avicii's simple yet catchy melodies.

Kygo has been active in the music industry since 2011, while his major breakthrough came in 2013 when he remixed Ed Sheeran's song "I See Fire". After gaining lots of attention from music critics, he scored major record deal with Sony Music and Ultra in 2014. "We are incredibly pleased to announce this signing," Adam Granite, Sony Music International's President of Northern & Eastern Europe and Africa, said at the time. "Kygo is a very talented artist and we look forward to taking his career to the next level as we build upon his strong social following."

Since signing deal, Kygo has been focusing on making his singles. The 25-year-old DJ released his first single "Firestone" featuring vocals from Conrad Sewell on December 1, 2014. It quickly reached No. 1 spot on Norwegian Singles Chart and became Kygo's first international big hit. After gaining international recognition, Kygo was asked by Avicii and Coldplay's Chris Martin to create an official remix of the band's song "Midnight". He also supported Avicii at Findings Festival in Oslo and replaced him at TomorrowWorld back in 2014.

Kygo released his debut album "Cloud Nine" on May 13, 2016. It includes some previously-released singles like "Stole the Show" featuring Parson James, "Nothing Left" featuring Will Heard and "Stay" featuring Maty Noyes. The 15-trek effort also features the likes of John Legend, Labrinth, Kodaline and Foxes among others.

In February 2017, Kygo released "It Ain't Me" featuring Selena Gomez. The song, which was released by Interscope Records/Ultra Music, serves as the first single from Kygo's upcoming second studio album. Co-written by Kygo, Gomez, Andrew Watt, Brian Lee and Ali Tamposi, the EDM song features an acoustic guitar line, synthesizers and pan flute melodies. A remix of the song was released on February 18, 2017 and featured actor Vin Diesel in the vocals.

Fresh off the release of "It Ain't Me", Kygo has signed an exclusive residency with Wynn Nightlife. He will launch the residency on April 30 at the kick-off of Wynn's nighttime pool party series NightSwim in Las Vegas. "Kygo's sound is completely unique to dance music and perfectly complements our pool party vibe," says Alex Cordova, Wynn Nightlife executive vice president and managing partner. "With a strong presence here during May and June, Kygo will be the dominant force on the Strip during prime pool party months."
