Synopsis
POLICE UNCOVER NEW EVIDENCE IMPLICATING WEALTHY SCION IN MURDER OF TEENAGED GIRL DECADES EARLIER - In this ripped-from-the-headlines story, under pressure from the police brass to reduce a backlog of unsolved murders, Detectives Briscoe (Jerry Orbach) and Green (Jesse L. Martin) dust off a 20-year-old case involving the slaying of a teenaged girl -- but when a new witness (guest star Bill Buell) steps forward, their investigation centers on the spoiled son (guest star Ken Marks) of a wealthy, well-connected political family. However, Assistant District Attorneys McCoy (Sam Waterston) and Carmichael (Angie Harmon) must overcome numerous obstacles to prove their case, namely a lost murder weapon, old or dead secondary witnesses and the viability of their prime witness' testimony that he overheard the accused man's confession while both were undergoing drug rehabilitation.
