A sorority pledge at Rockland U. goes missing in the woods during an initiation ritual, and Melinda thinks it may be too late to find her when she catches sight of a ghost wearing the same outfit as the missing girl, Courtney. As the town unites to try and find Courtney, Eli and Melinda try to get the ghost to confirm her identity and to open up about what happened when she got lost, but all they learn from her is that she is furious with her sorority sisters. Melinda and Eli then investigate the history of the sorority and discover that the ghost was actually a member, Rebecca, who had died during pledge week 40 years prior. Melinda is then able to get Rebecca to talk, and learns that she had led Courtney astray to try and create a tragedy that would end sorority hazing at the University. Rebecca had participated in the brutal hazing process, but had a change of heart when she realized the amount of pain she inflicted on a rejected pledge. Feeling horrible, Rebecca had died trying to help that pledge pass the same ritual that Courtney had gone missing during. Appealing to her compassion and insisting that hazing is through at Rockland U., Melinda is able to convince Rebecca to help lead Courtney out of the woods and Courtney's gratitude helps Rebecca cross over.
