'I don't even remember when I've cried before but my eyes are swollen with tears since I heard,' Ash Pournouri writes on Instagram following the death of the DJ.

AceShowbiz - Avicii's longtime manager is in deep "pain" and "despair" as he tries to come to terms with the death of his superstar client. On Saturday, April 21, Ash Pournouri poured out his feelings in a heartfelt Instagram post.

"Shock. Grief. Anger. Rage. Apathy. Despair. Misery. Pain. Pain. Pain.," he wrote. "I don't even know what this feeling is called. You were my family. My brother. My Friend. My ally. Part of my heart. Now that's gone. I've never experienced deep sadness like this. I don't even remember when I've cried before but my eyes are swollen with tears since I heard (the news). I haven't really accepted it yet, I can't imagine it's even real..."

Pournouri discovered Avicii in 2008, when he was just 18, and helped turn him into a dance music pioneer. However, they parted ways in 2016 after the hitmaking producer announced he was retiring from touring due to various health issues after years of excessive partying.

His tribute emerges hours after Avicii's peers, including Calvin Harris and David Guetta, shared their condolences online, and Diplo has since added his memories of the 28-year-old in his own social media post.

"You set the precedent for the rest of us producers/ opened doors and set the trends," he captioned a snap of the pair. "You were the gold standard . You made me want try and make dance music when i first heard 'seek bromance'. And then u kept making feel like s**t cause you kept gettin better and i couldn't even mix a snare right. you were the best of this generation."

He added, "A real superstar I know you had your demons and maybe this wasn't the right place for you sometimes , but we need to protect true artists like you at all costs because there are not enough left and we are losing too many .. be good Tim (sic)."

You set the precedent for the rest of us producers/ opened doors and set the trends . A real groundbreaker and influencer to all your peers . You should have lived to be 150.. but your music is gonna live forever . I'm not just saying that.. but you are the only one to always make timeless songs. You were the gold standard . You made me want try and make dance music when i first heard "seek bromance" . And then u kept making feel like shit cause you kept gettin better and i couldn't even mix a snare right .. you were the best of this generation . A real superstar 🌟 I know you had your demons and maybe this wasn't the right place for you sometimes , but we need to protect true artists like you at all costs because there are not enough left and we are losing too many .. be good Tim

Police investigating Avicii's passing in Oman have ruled out any foul play, although a cause of death is still pending.
