The 20-year-old model teamed up with Kendall Jenner to avoid 'any uncomfortable situations' by 'scanning the room' to keep Bella safe from having run-ins with the couple.

AceShowbiz - Bella Hadid successfully managed to avoid awkward run-ins with her ex-beau, The Weeknd, and his girlfriend, Selena Gomez, at the 2017 Met Gala with lots of help from bestie Kendall Jenner. Bella and Kendall were reportedly inseparable at the annual fashion gathering as the sister of Gigi Hadid "kept Kendall close for support."

"Bella did her best to avoid awkward Met Gala run-ins with lots of help from her friend, Kendall," a source told HollywoodLife.com. "At both the MET and at Rihanna's after party, Kendall and Bella were never far apart from each other." Bella and Kendall were said teaming up to ensure they didn't meet The Weeknd and Selena as the models were "always scanning the room to keep [Bella] safe from any uncomfortable situations."

Bella even came late to a dinner at the event as she didn't want to have an awkward encounter with the couple. "There was no sign of Bella anywhere near them. Bella was actually still outside going through the exhibit while Selena and The Weeknd were at dinner," a source told E! News. "You have to go through the exhibit to end up in the Temple of Dendur room where the dinner is, so Bella mainly stuck back hanging with friends laughing and having fun."

The 20-year-old model also hid out in the bathroom with Paris Jackson, Ruby Rose and Lara Stone. The girls broke the no-smoking rule by lighting up their cigarettes as they sat on the floor.
